Same here
There are way too many emotions and little facts provided in this article, it's a really hard read tbh.
Could someone please enlighten me why an installation would need 8gb of free ram?

There is hope. Discord and Slack.
Re:Google self-driving car pulled over for driving too slowly on Friday November 13, 2015 @06:07AM (#10559154)
I'm curious how it works. How does the Google car know that it's getting pulled over?
Re:Google Said to Be Under U.S. Antitrust Scrutiny Over Android on Friday September 25, 2015 @09:03AM (#10277880)
SAP?
Summary:

1. Only affects stock Android 2. Only works with password protection (PIN, pattern = OK) 3. Already patched

On paper you should be able to do the same with a HTML5 manifest file.

Don't get me wrong, it's a really neat wrapper, I'm just curious about why I should use this library instead of an already in HTML5 implemented, easy way which does pretty much the same?

Re:To Reduce VR Sickness, Add a Virtual Nose on Tuesday April 21, 2015 @08:29AM (#9413551)
It's called seasickness and known for thousand of years.

You get it or you don't and there is nothing technology could do about it for a long period of time at least.

Well someone could take some medicine before playing VR, but that would be a little bit too much, wouldn't it?

Re:Ask HN: What VPN Services do you use/recommend? on Thursday January 09, 2014 @08:54AM (#7030425)
He asked for recommendations because of many biased reviews. I told him what I use and why. That's it.

Here is the article I mentioned: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=ht...

Re:Ask HN: What VPN Services do you use/recommend? on Thursday January 09, 2014 @06:44AM (#7029912)
A few months ago I read an article where the author interviewed a hacker with a good reputation (sry, forgot the name) and where they talked about a bunch of VPN providers.

The hacker mentioned https://www.ipredator.se/ as a very good VPN service for various reasons. I'm using it since then and they accept Bitcoin as payment.

Out of their Hello Worl.. EH Hello Feminists example:

xe womain() //the alphabet "m" should be banned because it reminds me of the word "man"

Re:Your location history on Monday December 09, 2013 @05:41AM (#6873707)
https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0/dashboard is even "scarier". A combination of your locations history and nearby places.
Re:Bullshit Job Title Generator on Friday September 13, 2013 @08:23AM (#6379964)
This remembers me of the "Spiegel-Online" jobtitle-generator which came in a "casino-bandit" style.

This one: http://www.spiegel.de/karriere/berufsleben/jobtitel-generato...

Why doesn't it work from these countries? Just curious.
Quote: "...they nonetheless impliedly consent to Google’s practices by virtue of the fact that all users of email must necessarily expect that their emails will be subject to automated processing.

Just as a sender of a letter to a business colleague cannot be surprised that the recipient’s assistant opens the letter, people who use web-based email today cannot be surprised if their communications are processed by the recipient’s ECS provider in the course of delivery.

Indeed,“a person has no legitimate expectation of privacy in information he voluntarily turns over to third parties.” Smith v. Maryland, 442 U.S. 735, 743-44 (1979)..."

I think this is a good summary.

Re:Chrome's insane password security strategy on Tuesday August 06, 2013 @07:00AM (#6165879)
At least on Windows, Chrome uses a provided API function which makes the encrypted data only decipherable by the Windows user account used to encrypt the password. So essentially, your master password is your Windows account password. As a result, once you are logged into Windows using your account this data is decipherable by Chrome.

Disallow:/nsa

Hopefully this helps

If you do an image search on google you can actually find companies which are using them... for example:

( Did the image search with this one: http://placeit.breezi.com/uploads/stage/stage_image/113/bree... )

Re:Solve one of the worlds major health issues: $4000 on Friday July 26, 2013 @06:12AM (#6107425)
And then they slightly change the software to actually track <insert random military item here> instead of mosquitos and they would have a perfect defence weapon.
Re:System Administrator Appreciation Day on Friday July 26, 2013 @05:01AM (#6107245)
I'll never forget a SysAdmin Day again I promise. Why? Because today is my birthday :D
Yep. I would suggest to add a position: fixed to the header. And place the searchbox there of course.
Re:How clothes should fit on Sunday July 07, 2013 @03:01PM (#6002990)
Just sent it to Mr. Zuckerberg.

Re:NowJS - makes realtime apps really easy on Thursday April 12, 2012 @05:03AM (#3831597)
"For customers that are looking for even greater scalability and reliability, we'll soon be licensing a distributed version of NowJS"
The site seems to be very fast and reliable. I like the Javascript header and I love your pricing model. :P

To be honest, I think jpmc is right. Allowing demo users to upload files on a real server could cause U some serious damage one day.
