Impose costs on a society so that they submit to hostile pressure.
Will it work, or will it harden their resolve to fight?
is a computer monitor big enough?
I’m going to assume shelling solar and batteries isn’t environmentally friendly in a war either.
Personally because it’s made pc parts unaffordable or unobtainable.
If taxes are high enough, they will disincentivize work.
I'm on disability, and if I make over $1000 a month, anything over $1000 gets taxed at 75%.
Do you think I work enough to make over $1000 a month? Do you think I'd scrub toilets for $20 per hour and take home only $5?
Hint: after $1000, I either get paid cash or don't work
Why start a business in this sort of economic environment?
Work hard, so that the government can redistribute your success?
Or you have the problem of businesses slowly losing their owners, who then stop caring about their clients or community.
What is the result of these taxes? Where does the money go? Does it lead to more economic activity or less?
Long term review content is always so good but it’s rare so it’s expensive and people skip to the conclusion.
Perfect for the target audience!
In your basement with simple tools. 3D printers made it a lot easier and better. You can make a pipegun with very little skill.
Ammunition is a bit harder, but again, there is criminal markets that fill the needs.
You can setup a machine gun on a Remote Weapon Station and control it via the internet. You could have agents as machine gunners. Same with rocket launchers.
We are literally seeing the large scale use of robotic weapons platforms AT SCALE.
Machine guns create a storm of ballistic objects, and have been doing so for over 100 years. Large scale murder isn't new. We just have systems that have cameras that make it easy to put the footage online now.
"Drones should be handled the same way as weapons!"
Strict rules for law abiding citizens while the criminals are totally unencumbered by the law?

Seems like streaming is the future we are going to be fed.
The BBC tax is the kind of thing you get if government and corporate media get really friendly.
The people who almost got us into nuclear wars, also saved us from nuclear wars. How kind of them. Curtis "Bombs Away" Lemay was one of the founders. You should learn more, it's very interesting, and important, yet somehow often overlooked.
I support the licensure of boards of directors and CEO types, and enforcement of laws against the people who control companies.
If the CFO commits a crime, they can't get a license anymore. Start getting the bad actors out of positions of power.
But tort law makes it easy and profitable for them to do so.
Change the law, it just that easy.
If Meta is able to insure themselves from the cost of their illegal business practices that, so they have no incentive not to do this, and end up costing everyone money on their insurance... yes that is a problem, not to say what meta is being punished for isn't a problem.
Stop making things, its so dirty.
Buy all the things from me, don't worry about my dirty powered factories.
If global climate change is a problem, you can't just have some countries deindustrializing and reducing CO2 while others go full bore on scale manufacturing with any form of cheap energy including coal being used.
Normal people don't care about climate, and 1.5C is meaningless to them.
Pollution in the air they breathe, the water they drink and the soil their food comes from? That's something normal people care about and understand.
Climate change is a branding and communications failure. Fight pollution (bad thing) not "climate" or "change".
Why doesn't anyone understand this and rebrand?
Yeah, more weigh less range. 100 KG human with body armour/rifle, and a small combat load would be around that 150KG limit.
Problem is staging is hard, because you take fire trying to set them up, so you need to be further away, which brings up the weight/range issues.
And that's why the war is fought with one way attack drones, to maximize range and payload.
A lot of the wounded soldiers that are getting these heroic evacuations have lost weight, months of combat and limited nutrition, blood and limb loss.
Fresh soldiers, with a combat load, might be too heavy. Or simply risky
Run the experiment in different eras.
Did Ivy League phds boomers not get jobs after 2000 applications?
What has changed the opportunities in the job market?
I wonder how many units Meta bought to convince Apple to do a collaborative advertisement.
MMOs should have offline modes for LAN parties.
No reason a remote community can't host their own instance, and save bandwidth.
Will the state pay when their trees fall onto a private property and break the fence?
