The corporations are the only ones that can pay the salaries being requested by labor activists though. IMO, a lot of the agitation for higher wages as a universal right has a negative effect on smaller businesses, while the corporations (which are the actual targets) have an easier time adapting to changes in federal and state law, for example by compensating with foreign revenue.

I can't imagine it makes starting a new small business any easier when you're required to pay employees $20/hr. Think about how many startups are designed from the ground up for corporate acquisition, almost like a fire-and-forget model never intended to scale.

I'd like to think unions and labor reformers consider such things, but to be honest it's probably tertiary at best.

Yes, there typically has to be reciprocity; this is what closed off the world's media throughout the entire duration of the Cold War, and is the paradigm under which China (and Russia to an extent) still operate. It's why RFERL, originally a pro-American propaganda radio broadcast targeted at Eastern Bloc and communist countries, was created, and why you could go to jail for listening to it in the USSR. Actually, currently, you still can (in Russia under their wartime laws).

It wasn't and still isn't legal to run an unregulated foreign-owned news bureau in basically any country. Social media is enmeshed with current events / news so it falls under like jurisdiction.

"Schizo" applies here as there is a definite schism between countries in the world and always has been. Try operating a HAM radio around Florida/Cuba and you'll find the southern neighbor has jammed (I believe) most radio news coming from the US.

I am just commenting about what I've seen at concept artist desks / animation studios / etc.

From what I've heard (not an OSX user) Windows is the best operating system for multiple screens; OSX and Linux glitch way more. Most anyone doing 3D sculpture or graphics/art on a professional level will eventually move to working with 2-3 screens, and since there are no exclusively Mac design programs, OSX will be suboptimal.

There's little things too, like some people using gaming peripherals (multi-button MMO mice and left hand controllers, etc.) for editing, which might not be compatible with OSX.

And also, if you're mucking around with two 32 inch 4k monitors and a 16 inch Wacom it might start to feel a little ridiculous trying to save space with a Mac Pro.

"Slopreneurs"
I'm certainly buoyed.
You can call it a "narrative", but then I get to shrink the "food desert" term into just a part of some narrative too, since I've seen personally how theft drives out grocers in MN here. One after another "underperforming".

The progressive D.A.'s and A.G.'s, who own this project of mass downward departure from normal sentencing, do not expect things to change overnight by taking pressure off (mainly) the poor and the young.

But in 5-10 years if crime is worse and society more stratified, their project can be called a failure.

You got a few days of Tor on each device; then they need to burn.
