This isn't connect to just the scarcity of the land. People can live without bitcoin and the Mona Lisa, but you can't live without land. If you want to take this to the extreme imagine if somebody owns the whole country. Housing is a human right.
The point is you as a business don't have to use aws, there are alternatives out there.
For consumers it is irrelevant because they aren't buying "aws" directly.
With Enterprise I mean B2B/Consulting.

Hey HN,I'm shortly finishing up my studies and I wanted to chose a field to deepen my knowledge in.
This way I can hopefully become really competent.I've worked in Enterprise as a intern for a comparably long time, but I'm having doubts if it is the right choice. (Maybe not so fun, moves slowly)Machine Learning and Crypto seem in comparison really interesting fields but they may not pan out....
What is the heat death of the universe?
I would suggest not to comment without reading the article. This way you would avoid such unpleasantries.
He's arguing from his opinions and experiences. Say he is biased, is true but irrelevant. (Water is wet)
Is MongoDB not open-source?
I'm sorry but you are spreading misinformation. The Swiss are not anti-vax in general and they are not against the Covid vaccine. Switzerland is 63.7% vaccinated.
In any case not getting the vaccine doesn't make someone uneducated. Switzerland has some of the best schools and universities in the world. In 2018, 44% of 25-64 year-olds had completed a tertiary qualification in Switzerland, compared to 39% on average across OECD countries. [1]

On the point of arresting people planning to protest, many protest around the world were fueled by the use of social media/messaging apps. So in that case its not obvious that it has a negative effect on democracy.

I know that HN is skeptical towards cryptocurrencies, but I'm sure some of you have experience with it.I want to take payments in crypto on my app.
The requirements are as follows:
- Low fees
- Very popular
- High number of transactions
- High transaction volumeI am no crypto expert by no means.
A friend of mine suggested Ethereum.
Is that the only reasonable choice?
You misunderstood the question. He is asking why are they honoring his title as Knight in Switzerland, when noble titles are usually abolished in republics.
A good example of this can be seen in the Constitution of the US.
"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

How much do you stand to make?
Because he's also a Mathematician in the Olympics, similar to (but not as successful) as Mrs. Kiesenhofer.
We like when nerds are not completely 1 dimensional.
The fact that she's a woman doesn't make this interesting. (Woman winning women's cycling wouldn't be much news.) The reason this is interesting is because she's a Mathematician and an amateur.
Getting abused by pimps vs protecting their mother country - I know which one I'd like my children to pick.
Choosing the extreme version of one and the benign version of the other seems pretty handy.
Why would anybody in this hypothetical thread discuss the politics of owning/renting, when that doesn't bring you closer to any solution?
I find this to be completely untrue. Anecdotally, my friends from South Sudan, who aren't white, tell me that the unsafest neighborhoods in my country are better than the safest in theirs.
This is the same sentiment that I get from most non-white foreigners.

I am on the cusp of finishing my first side-project, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it appealing. Even though I can easily implement functionality in React, on the design side of things I don't know what to do aside from throwing together some components from different libraries. What do you guys use? Got any tips?
