The careers page (https://joinpond.ai/careers) is down btw
if AMOC fails, we've got bigger fish to fry
Maybe the reaction is more: what has all of that and as dense a job market (at least for the time being)? Or just a reaction, like I had, calling it a 'shitty place to live'. I'm more than happy for folks to discover other locales and lower the rent but even as a fan of SF, I don't see those smaller cities as fungible unless you've got enough saved to retire, in which case, fair enough.
the things that people mention as compromises - expensive for families, traffic, small living space - aren't things that are make or break for me. i don't plan to have kids, bypass traffic on my bike, have the city as my living room, rent is relatively less of a burden because my remaining spend revolves around food.
I'd live in a tiny home esp. if the rent scaled with the size

There are exercises that can help RSI, I also recommend folks look at using Talon for computer voice control.
ex: you don't want all users to be able to access finance's tables, else you might have folks trading stock on information they're not supposed to be privy to.
Yeah because the things that have increased in price faster than overall inflation (housing and healthcare) have inelastic demand. Who cares if nonessential goods have gotten cheaper if the essentials keep going up and up?
Why would the author not ask how many interviews they got and what stage to give some picture of the pipeline? Impressions on where they think they goofed in the process? It's frustratingly opaquely written
Like having kids while facing jailtime, it can be read as a ploy to evade responsibility. Call it selfish, utility-maximizing, rational - whatever furthers the individual's interests.

The transition could take a long time, so money and assets could still help in the near term.

Not reliant on their own labor for their survival is how I intended that. Obviously those folks still depend on the labor of others to make ends meet.

Isn't that existentialism rather than nihilism? Or perhaps you are mention it as a transition state before arriving at constructing your own meaning?

you may not care about politics but politics sure cares about you. i.e. those who don't pay attention don't get a say and only realize it matters when they're getting steamrolled. I agree with you about the fervor and all, that all sides bear some complicity in the current state of affairs, just not that both sides are the same - that feels like justification for not getting involved.

That's too cheery - it both pushes innovation and is leading us towards planetary catastrophe.

I don't have all the answers but my gut is: resist convenience, educate yourself on how tech is steering politics, give input to city planners on projects, if possible increase your agency so that you have the ability to push back and influence career choice/conditions (build up financial security, live below your means, advocate for housing).
