We'll see more companies go the way of Coinbase and Basecamp. Companies sidetracked with politics will bleed the apolitical.
Which is why they are pushing to make DC the 51st state in tandem to ensure that doesn't happen.

Crypto networks can solve this through incentivising early adopters, e.g. https://bitclout.com

Subscribable mute and block lists. This allows each user to tailor moderation to their comfort level.

The original meaning of "religion" in Arabic ("Din") is law. What you call "religious error" is tantamount to "illegal behaviour" to others.
Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution. When does it end? Or is this the new normal?

What's the point you're trying to make? That irredeemable companies are a nightmare to work for?

Well of course they are. And just like irredeemable relationships, you need to move on and improve your judgement to avoid a repeat. Bemoaning on Slack achieves nothing.

You're hired to produce value, not instigate political change.

If your goal is to "force my values on the employees, and silence dissent (no bigoted discussions at work)", then go start your own company (although your demands best describe a cult).

This is an HR responsibility. You either trust them to avoid and eliminate discrimination or you don't.

If you don't trust your employer's HR department, then why did you accept the position?

We already have a solution for the issues you described, HR.

Defiling work communication channels with political opinions only serves to distract, deride, and divide.

Yes. Jews have been treated as literal monsters for millennia and the rest of the world has lived with it.

The real test of a fair system is to build your "contextualization engine" and then hand it over to your ideological enemies to run.
How about modelling? It's dominated by women while men are relegated to the proverbial shadows.
That's clearly inconsistent. You don't let 14 year olds vote, drink, drive, or own a gun. They are expected to make mistakes. Chastising them for a private comment made outside of school is inconsistent with their obligations.

The problem is you have these dying institutions riddled with power hungry sycophants who feel empowered with this wave of cancel culture.

The amount of effort expended, e.g.

- always additive, never proactively refactoring

- a proclivity towards reaching for SO rather than reading the manual

- inconsistent formatting, number of line breaks, ordering of identifiers, etc

Have observed a strong correlation between conscientiousness and how developed a country is.

This is undoubtedly due to a self-selection bias in developed countries, where there are a million opportunities, wherein only those deeply interested in programming choose (and stick with) it as a career.

Those in less developed countries don't have the same privilege, with many choosing programming as an easy ticket out of poverty.

It’s intentional: https://mobile.twitter.com/nntaleb/status/129716309534169907...
