I've been trying zen browser as an alternative but many features are missing.

It's a pity they decided to kill what made them successful.

No one cares about Dia browser, Arc was really about delivering useful stuff.

Exactly, I had to shorten the title while trying to keep the meaning

This would up the game for wind energy. Less land footprint per KW, better capacity factor.

Would airborne wind be cheaper than photovoltaics?

It probably depends on geography (latitude and weather patterns)

There is an element I haven't seen in this conversation: as the number of combustion engine cars goes down the number of gas stations also goes down. At some point, combustion engine drivers will start feeling range anxiety. So when you get rid of your fossil-fuel-burner vehicle, you are pushing others to do so.

The full calculus of CO2 emissions reduction should also include the reduction induced in others.

Re:What is a quantum computer good for? nothing – yet on Saturday July 04, 2026 @02:58PM (#48787891)
Google had a paper last year explaining that: https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/research/us...

We do not have any useful algorithm to run on a quantum computer.

The problem is not that we do not have yet quantum computers powerful enough, but that even if we had such computers we would not have anything useful to run on them.

You could use this audio at 300 baud by recording it on a standard audio cassette. Then play the audio back as input to the modem to retrieve the data

Actually in 1982 I was able to store my programs on standard audio cassettes. Hardware needed: a modem and a cheap tape recorder. My apple II modem would chirp the ascii binary like Starwars' R2D2, I'd record that and when needed I'd play it back to the modem.

I agree, this report from astronaut Camarda should really alarm NASA.

This report from astronaut Camarda is indeed a bomb. Scaring.

The DJI ROMO robot vacuum is amazing. It shows what can be done with today's technology.

My Roomba is just crap compared with DJI's. I'm not surprised they went bankrupt.

Excerpt: “The fact that it’s been 3 years since ChatGPT first launched, and you’ve only just now managed to make it obey this simple requirement, says a lot about how little control you have over it, and your understanding of its inner workings,” wrote one X user in a reply. “Not a good sign for the future.”

Interesting, it seems really likely that more light indoors should be good. Do you have a reference, a scientific study on the topic? Thanks!
