Sorry to be obtuse, and I lvoe AI, but wasnt this a bug fix on a small model?
this blew my mind! incredible!
I really like this, not trying to be annoying but is the main point that we can walk around in first person or does it lend itself to be ported to minecraft or something?

Sorry to be weird and ask. Very impressive though I like it.

It’s almost hard to imagine perhaps or maybe I’m biased but my grand father was very similar in manner to him. Otherwise I may have assumed such men did not exist.

I went to a small theater production he was in with my gf. I hadnt realised all the seats would be taken and for some reason I was the only person standing with my girlfriend. We stood at teh back in the dark but I couldnt help but feel he was looking straight at me and my girlfriend for the duration of the play while he was onstage.

It might of been Im not sure, not the case? But perhaps against a white wall it was clear we were the only ones standing for the performance and in turn it felt he was performing for us. It just felt like that.

I ofcourse have no idea if he was just looking in our general direction but it weirdly felt like it and I thought it was kind.

Ive never had such a "he was doing it for us" self centered view of any other performance Ive ever been to, but I always remembered this, and like to believe it was true.

The play itself was about him being an old dying forgetful man. It was so convincing I somehow left thinking that surely he was but ofcourse it was just excellent acting.

same day as you said that there was a train crash in spain which was weird, but yes just coincidence.

When you say its not deep though, I was just saying that literally everyone in Spain a year ago was talking about the yellow tram crash in portugal, and thus it was perhaps insensitive. I dont mind if noone agrees, there was a point to my comment. Just because you live in SF doesnt negate what everyone thought (in Spain, not SF ) when they saw the yellow tram, it was a national tragedy.

I guess weirdly not anymore. man life is crazy sometimes.

cool update. Like super cool.

Just one thing about the advert, how can I be the only person here thinking the ad is weird - like for the marketing dep, its a bit weird the ad features the same tram that broke and tragically like ended some people - happened for like the first time ever in 100 years, like a year ago ( 14 months ago) just a bit weird.

Im honestly not trying to be negative, but its kinda weird I kinda feel I should mention it because noone else has?

Im sure literally anyone from southern europe must have thought this the second they saw the ad. It was big news last year.

Am I mad? Just a heads up for PR to always check things like this first when releasing a video? Maybe its just me? Just trying to help

sounds like all the AIs havent hung around men of caliber. I suggest they join a team sport like rowing or basketball.
Re:Google cleared 300 hectares of Finnish forest on Thursday October 22, 2026 @12:35PM (#50197714)
Clearly the poeple who Okd this and were meant to keep a watchful eye either havent been to Finland in their lives or were busy taking naps in the Google appointed nap room. Doing anything in Finland involving a potted plant would attract the wrath of any of the 5 people who live there, so no bro Im not surprised.

I just don't see society advancing until you all get used to naked people, I mean from cavemen to the greeks to Boticelli, was cool with it and that was along time ago.

How many man hours go into not allowing things that might break some law of offense? How many hours wasted trying to change the meaning of words and related punishments.

I mean it doesn't make sense to me in any form of efficient civilisation.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @04:00PM (#50123766)
well Im suitably impressed
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @03:22PM (#50123190)
To me this sounds so crazy.

In England if I go to my local garage and ask them to replace something like A radiator or water pump it will be like $200 for labour plus maybe $250 for the part ( unless I get it myself off ebay for like $30 and install it myself ).

For example a plastic fender came off, I just bought it for $15 and all I need to do is click it in place when it arrives by post. Im not a mechanic.

EDIT > Incase you all think Im crazy I did the numbers as Im not "a poor man" and quite fancy a cool new car even if 2nd hand, if I get a 2nd hand Landrover Hybrid for 40k, the MPG will be double my old Mini, ONLY if its charged at home, I dont stop at petrol statinos etc, otherwise it would be more!

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @03:16PM (#50123106)
you can just ask me lol.

In 20 years: I got a garage to replace a radiator after a stone hit it, for $600 Also 2 tires once, for like $200.

I might not drive as much as you all, but when I do its at a relaxed pace and the roads are good where I live. I have a manual transmission and Im always careful how I accelerate and how I brake and change gears. It has about 100k on the mileage now

Its a Mini Convertible if anyone cares

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:04PM (#50122003)
Man you Americans, here I am with me 20 year old Mini and it works great I think it’s only valued at about 2k

Re:`123456' password used in Danish CPR data breach on Saturday October 10, 2026 @06:54AM (#50031632)
Im sorry I know Im getting old but I say everyone is responsible. From the press who might focus too much on the whistleblower, to the poeple who OKed the company for 3rd party access, to the team responsible for regulation to the person who didnt order further checks.

I dont understand why there is not massive reorganisations in systems when things go wrong. Its always , oh yeah so we fired the guy furthest down the ladder.

You might think Im being weird, but after living many years in corporate the amount of times you see some major thing go wrong and some random guy get fired for it - often the dude who found/highlighted the problem, is crazy. I mean you simply don't believe it until you witness it. Its just moral/leadership decay.

I wouldn't have made this comment but I see comments with people empathising with certain individuals in cases like this, when the way to be nice is to overhaul the system of checks and people responsible and spread the blame, fixing the domain.

Re:Denmark Data Breach Exposes 8.8M People's Personal Data on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @09:12AM (#49977932)
You can just say something like " bro what was up with Rockstar that sucked back then? "

Ive laid that pigeon to rest, but I pointed out a few years ago that the fact they had a loading screen that took 10mins ( im exaggerating ) because of a shopping cart item look up problem, fixed by a random kid, was not a good look especially because they didnt reward him appropriately. It was a small but clear sign something was a miss.

Edit> the point was I raised concerns at the time to help Rockstar and was just insulted. Anyway if anyone at Rockstar got this far, Im sure youre got it all under control mostly and are doing great now keep it up.

Can you all calm down, I just said I didnt like the vibe Im not going after anyone, if you are getting this upset over a random general comment I advise you have a cup of tea.

EDIT> Im sorry I shouldnt have made a comment about the firing on second thoughts

Re:Denmark Data Breach Exposes 8.8M People's Personal Data on Monday October 05, 2026 @06:38AM (#49963108)
You are right lol, damn!
Re:Denmark Data Breach Exposes 8.8M People's Personal Data on Monday October 05, 2026 @06:37AM (#49963102)
I love the bit where a programmer always proudly chimes in with this statement as if it means anything.

You dont get it bro, its not a good vibe.

And if I had bean in management I would have fired anyone involved with that decision.

Why is it so often HN that I point something obvious out , like Rockstar having clearly failed management and a complete loss of control, but instead of agreement or silence I always get flak from some random user who just doesnt get it, and then a year later the company starts falling apart.

Im just a guy who recognises patterns and im not even smart.
