Not too strange if Apple wants a competitive development environment.
Re:Google is wrong. Apple’s iMessage is a failure on Wednesday January 19, 2022 @10:25PM (#30004133)
Google's stock Android Messages app has been consistently good for the last few years. Simple interface that doesn't try to do too much - good search functionality and a web client if you'd like to send SMS/RCS from your computer.
Not for someone else's benefit, but for the benefit of their entire city/state/country.
Toggling bt/airplane mode can work for iOS instead
Would prefer max installs filter instead of min to filter out the bigger apps that have budgets for seo
It could be, seems like they already had something in WASM for doing this so it made more sense to use that than re do on LLVM IR.
Re:Processing and P5 got newbies into coding on Wednesday November 24, 2021 @09:37AM (#29330332)
OPENRNDR is worth checking out for anyone interested in processing https://openrndr.org/

It avoids a lot of the weirdness that processing has in its relation with Java and meets somewhere between that and open frameworks.

Great to check out if you've been looking for a playground to get familiar with Kotlin too!

agree with your point, but one could also look at the performance/power savings and use that in an argument for environmentally friendliness
isn't it possible for there to be overlap between "because they want to" and "because it's necessary"?

This is clearly something you'd need to see in person to understand before making a statement like that.

Re:Adobe Joins Blender Development Fund on Tuesday July 20, 2021 @12:29PM (#27895876)
Thinking paid plugins is the likely route, they could easily leverage their large library of 3d assets (shaders/models/rigged customizable characters)
Re:Adobe Joins Blender Development Fund on Tuesday July 20, 2021 @12:27PM (#27895842)
Dimension could be seen as competition
The app has to declare permissions before it's launched their 'nutrition' label could be shown based on that. The only, debatably, valid part of this argument is those apps can't be vetted by apple for user safety before installation the same way apps on the app store are.
