The idiotic corporate spiritual newspeak is the cherry on top of this whole ordeal. Can't you just plainly ask for a bailout without overblowing the importance of your little bubble club?

Lots of words, zero reasoning.
Re:Best way to learn gamedev by practice? on Saturday November 26, 2022 @05:01PM (#33757245)
Thank you for advice. I see you're not too fond of Unity. Care to elaborate why? Also, which language/framework would be the most balanced choice, i.e. not too hardcore for newcomers and not too drag-and-drop-like?

Best way to learn gamedev by practice?

I want to learn how to make games but my usual approach to learning is through solving existing problems. Now making a whole video game is a little different from grinding on leetcode or making a simple desktop app. What is the best genre or type of a game to tackle first and which set of tools would you recommend for the overall solo gamedev experience?

Re:Twitter was special. But it's time to leave on Sunday November 20, 2022 @06:41AM (#33680164)
Quite the opposite for me. Just started using it more actively for arts and other actually interesting stuff.
Not sure why the author targets Apple as his primary planned obsolescence criticism subject. They've actually made the whole product life-cycle as eco-friendly as possible, from working with zero-emission partners only to launching a proper device recycling program. Other e-waste producing companies could learn from them.
But he was correct? He did not imply anything even remotely anti-Semitic, just accused a sovereign state of conducting violence.

Well, good for him. Hope this nonsensical witch hunt will naturally wither away.
Re:Coq searches for alternative name on Friday April 09, 2021 @04:48AM (#26748162)
Should we scrap all foreign names altogether to make our dearest English speakers as comfortable as possible? Talk about diversity.

I see, my bad. Apologies for false accusations.

English speakers are quite selfish it seems. Instead of acknowledging and appreciating other languages they're tailoring those languages for themselves.
This article is so absurd it feels surreal reading it.
Re:In Support of Richard Stallman on Tuesday April 06, 2021 @03:46AM (#26709189)
Why does HN moderation staff keep flagging posts related to Stallman? This topic is extremely important and yet they're trying to prevent any discussion of it.
Apparently VB is so bad they listed it twice.
Re:Libreboot – Defend Richard Stallman on Wednesday March 31, 2021 @08:36AM (#26646433)
Oh, wow. Maybe if you actually skimmed through the list of supporters you'd find that they're real people with real jobs strongly interested in FOSS from all around the world? Or are you, perhaps, a jingoistic xenophobe for whom only American opinions matter?
Re:Libreboot – Defend Richard Stallman on Wednesday March 31, 2021 @08:33AM (#26646403)
It's good to see that there are still some sensible people working in FOSS.

There is a support letter hosted on github: https://rms-support-letter.github.io/
That's it? Bad hygiene and awkward attempts at romancing women? Truly, a devil incarnate.
Regardless of the minor controversial views held by RMS, this recent development is a dishonest attack on his person based on false accusations parroted by blatant liars. I don't think such precedents should be given any chance at success.

You're done with capitalism, not tech. People today confuse the framework with the subject too often.
