I appreciate your input and I like the monthly check-in items. Those are certainly relevant and would be useful looking back.

I'm often trying to influence my dreams and make things stick to my subconscious so they will surface up during them. I find your approach interesting.

Reading this article and the comments here make me want to journal again. After reading a book on taking smart notes and finally successfully implementing the zettelkasten technique into my daily life, I feel like I've drifted away from the traditional journal method. Where I now utilize a system of index cards to capture dreams, thought out ideas, task list and concepts, I previously held notebooks that I would attempt to write daily on all various types of things. Reading back on these is an amazing to relive and stir up new feelings.

I found that when I wrote and read things back later, I would have trouble remembering them fully. When I was using a "journal" daily, I started to capture a few key details with every entry to help with recall:

  1) Current date and exact time (ex. 10/9/23 @ 9:33am)
  2) Music / auditory ambiance (ex. X song was playing in background)
  3) Where I was while writing (ex. on couch in living room at X house)
  4) A trigger memory (ex. travelled back from X destination yesterday)
When I read the entries that include this metadata, it helps me re-live these times and further spark memories around them.

I'm curious if anyone else has key details like this they include with their journaling that help them. I have a mission to start journaling again and would be fitting to add anything else others might be doing.

looks like this was even ack'd in May 2022: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30533032
I think the fact this was possible via the use of CF workers invalidates your point. Also, you choose to add the Domain Lockdown feature as a direct results of these findings.

I'd feel pretty silly too if my "email filters" kept me from acting sooner on this problem.

Back when Lenovo ran their outlet for refurbished laptops on very database heavy oracle backend (2011?), our little computer shop would buy stuff from them. If you added an item to your cart, it would hold it for 10 min and prevent others from purchasing.

I used AHK to script a process that would automatically add laptops to our cart based on certain search criteria. Then we could sift through their inventory and release what we didn't want.

It was running great until one day it went rouge (okay, was prob human error) and it added EVERY item to our cart and crashed their website. Database error came up, I called them and told them what I did and they were happy to know why it went down.

The power button broke on a dell laptop i was working on one time. We had to order the part, but the customer didn't want to wait.

I offered a very cheap alternative, and took his spare wifi antenna cables and cut the off. Then I soldered them DIRECTLY to the motherboard and routed them to hang out the side.

It was like jumper cables, you tap the and the laptop would turn on

Re:GoDaddy Email Updated Backwards on Friday April 14, 2017 @01:55PM (#14115915)
Well, the only change that was made was to the email and I was able to create that with gmail so I control it now.

GoDaddy hasn't a clue so I'll just update the email/pw/pin and add 2factor. They say it shows someone logged in but I don't believe that, it's likely a programming bug on their end

Re:GoDaddy Email Updated Backwards on Friday April 14, 2017 @01:30PM (#14115753)
Well, the email changed but the password stayed the same and I don't really know what that means. GoDaddy says someone logged in and changed it this morning but they don't log the IP address so I can only guess it's malicious.
Re:GoDaddy Email Updated Backwards on Friday April 14, 2017 @01:22PM (#14115704)
Whine? I'm checking if any others have experienced the same. It's either a programming bug on their end or a crafty way of compromising an account

GoDaddy Email Updated Backwards

I recieved an email alaert this morning Fri, Apr 14, 2017 at 6:44 AM from GoDaddy that my account settings had changed. WHen I logged in, I noticed my email is now backwards. Ex. instead of Email.com it's liamE.com .Anyone with GoDaddy see something similar? I'm waiting to get in touch with their tech support to find out what triggered the change, just very odd

Yeah, it's intrinsic of how the flexible ssl option works: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200170416-W...
Yeah, you should not process your four examples over and over with that cost
That and for those of us seeing the notification that their server is backed up, I can't even see it in action right now. Seems like this should have been cached
Since system() PHP function didn't directly work, do you think he would have been able to gain full access as he suggested?
Re:Question about Virtual DNS with Cloudflare on Saturday March 26, 2016 @03:12PM (#11366982)
Okay, that makes sense. I saw the orange cloud was available for other CNAME records and was unsure about that. I have a client that I believe currently has the orange cloud enabled on a CNAME pointing to MaxCDN but was probably done before this change was put in place. I was curious how that was setup as I couldn't do it under my account but it all makes sense now.

Thanks again for both of yalls input.

Hey, thanks for responding to this. I'm sure you have things to do so I appreciate any time you take.

I have a screenshot of my CF panel here and the orange cloud is not available for that CNAME and I'm not sure why that would be. Maybe it's is a paid service I don't have access to.

http://rainbowgardensinc.com/cf_dns.png

The cdn CNAME is pointing to MaxCDN and they should be compatible with Cloudflare. I'm just not sure if there is a way to mask\hide that this CNAME resolves to them or not. I feel like it needs to return the IP from MaxCDN in order to even function.

I'm gonna reach out to them and see if they can offer any suggestions. Any other input you have would be appreciated. Thanks again

Question about Virtual DNS with Cloudflare

I'm trying to accomplish something that I'm not sure is doable. I'm using Cloudflare for the domain rainbowgardensinc.com and have a CNAME for the cdn.rainbowgardensinc.com record that goes to rainb.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com, as shown below.I'm using Cloudflare for my nameservers as well and want to mask the returned IP/CNAME record. I'm aware of CNAME flattening but that doesn't mask the IP, it...

Re:300,000 WordPress hacking attempts and 5 observations on Friday November 28, 2014 @02:34AM (#8670019)
Was just about to recommend this. Supporting Wordpress everyday, I find this is the best way to combat the problem. Another option would be to add an additional password for the directory. For you apache guys,

  AuthType Basic
  AuthName "Authentication Required"
  AuthUserFile "/etc/htpasswd/.htpasswd"
  Require valid-user

Kira! Where are you L. We need you now!
I believe this was a fair use of out critique laws. We are allowed to show copyrighted work when criticizing, reporting and other public things like that.
"The auditor began digging, speaking to many people in West Virginia state government who had been involved with the project. The Department of Education told him that it "did not request or require that the routers for the state's schools have internal dual power supplies. Education would not have made this requirement because unless a school has two power sources the feature of dual power supplies would have no use." A network engineer for the Department of Education confirmed that he had not requested such a feature."

Education would not have made this requirement because unless a school has two power sources the feature of dual power supplies would have no use.

Oh is that how redundant power supplies work? You need two power sources, eh?

Another Question: Since I am the primary and only author, I can freely remove and modify the current source to what I like. Meaning, removing a field or adding a new field without the consent of anyone? I know this question seems silly but It would help me fully understand.
Re:Is this my intellectual property legally? on Friday September 28, 2012 @03:31PM (#4587374)
Okay this is giving me more info. I am all for opensource and sharing code so I have no problem with that.

Me not wanting them to use it is because I have poured hours at night working on this and received no recognition what so ever. No offer of a bonus for something that has saved hours weekly. No simple "thanks". I get taken advantage of too often by employers.

I suppose i'm SOL in making this happen but does mean I can freely use it my self and build on it further.

Where\How do I release my source code at?

Re:Is this my intellectual property legally? on Friday September 28, 2012 @03:09PM (#4587256)
Well we have no contract about anything what so ever. My salary position or the PHP program. I modified the opensource PHP application for a tool for ME to use. Here's my non-tech real world example.

Sam sorts papers for a company. There ask him to sort them alphabetically. He is only given a flat table to work with. He decides to build a filing rack as it would be a lot more efficient and allow him to get's things done quicker. The other people in the office see this device and would like to use it as it seems to work way better as well.

Now given Sam leaves the company, that filing rack he built is his. He used no funding from the company to make it. They did not ask him to build it. If they want one like it, they need to build one them selves or purchase it from Sam.

This is my interpretation.

Is this my intellectual property legally?

So I modified a version of OS Ticket, a PHP based ticketing system, for my company. Previously, our company used Quickbooks Online and used the 'estimate' feature as their inventory of systems. THis was horrible so on my own time at home, I slowly modified and made a new ticketing system. I started using it for myself to manage repairs better and it worked great. The manager caught notice of...
