Re:Watchman: Execute a command when something changes on Wednesday October 05, 2022 @11:09AM (#33096537)
Also to note "watchdog" the term. Is used also in hardware/software context. Usually as a way to mitgate or recover system faulate. I first I heard of this term while taking in a course about PIC microcontroller[1].

> The Watchdog Timer in the PIC16F819 The watchdog timer can be a real source of pain and can also make a PIC system incredibly robust and reliable. But what exactly is the watchdog timer? Simply put, the watchdog timer is a hardware timer in the PIC that, if not constantly reset by the software, will cause the PIC to reset. This feature can be incredibly useful if the PIC should hang due to a hardware or software issue and guarantees that the PIC will restart from the beginning. Not only does it reset the system, it also flags a bit that can be used to determine if the system just crashed.

[1]: PIC microcontroller, is a small hardware simliar to arduino but more on a lower level.

It can't be that long...However I did edit to be as accurate as possible. Thank you

To be accurte, it's not completely Micrsoft agnostic, it make use case for a PSQL extension citus[1], the company behind this extension has been acquired by Microsoft two years ago[2].

I am happy that there are such a discussion exists, understanding the problem is the first step toward resolving it. I hope we as humans being, would eventually learn and apply a better system for handling decisions that affect the public. I do think that it might take time however I am kinda optimistic.

Both needs each other as to what I'v concoluded when I researched this topic. Making the machine is one thing and using it for fabrication is different thing, it might sound naive to say so, since typically one might think generally of machines as they comes with manual, and that's all you need for opreation..etc, but that is really far from be the case for the EUV machines or the fabrication plants... Lastly, to add to the point, if it was only about the machine, why Intel haven't started using it for fabricating <7nm...

Very interesting discussion/thread! I have been thinking lately, that scientists whom research area is around developing vaccination, might not need to worry anymore about getting grants or funded because of covid-19. It might be considred one of best consequence of the unfortunate epidmic.
