Re:LibreOffice and the Art of Overreacting on Saturday March 28, 2026 @08:14PM (#47559245)
Italo Vitrioli’s personal grievances shouldn’t be posted on the official TDF blog!
Re:LibreOffice Online: A Fresh Start on Friday February 27, 2026 @12:58PM (#47183389)
Just say no to people who say "just say no".
Re:Google Removed Organic Maps from the Playstore on Saturday August 17, 2024 @05:06PM (#41277959)
It’s another loop to jump through. One needs to go to Android Auto’s settings and enable apps from external sources.
This is why I’m sad we at the LibreOffice project decided to embrace Gtk. We ported hundreds of dialogs to Glade and GNOME decided to fuck us over by deprecating it.
Re:ByteDance is using OpenAI's tech to build a competitor on Saturday December 16, 2023 @04:21AM (#38662950)
Aww, the makers of that plagiarizing machine are upset that they're being plagiarized.
Re:Shazam turns 20 on Sunday August 21, 2022 @05:36AM (#32538634)
I use Huawei Music instead to identify songs. Shazam broke my heart when they announced they would sell their souls to Apple, and I was like f the american empire.
Re:Settings are not a design failure on Wednesday February 02, 2022 @11:24PM (#30188646)
Just a little bit dumbed down, but this is the absolute correct take. Settings are design features, not bugs. Settings are beneficial to diverse kinds of humans.

Re:Britney Spears: 'I got my first iPad today' on Saturday August 07, 2021 @04:16PM (#28101463)
And his father even has the gall to claim she needs a 5150 hold. He is a disgusting, greedy person.
Re:The Inter typeface family on Friday July 30, 2021 @11:46PM (#28015095)
Inter is an overhyped project and a mediocre font design. Sorry, but somebody had to say it.
Why is Larry Sanger still trying to grab attention to himself with his old grudges? That he despises Wikipedia is not news. Heck, back when I was in writing class I wrote a comparative essay on Wikipedia and Citizendium, and this was like ten years ago, when I was learning English.
Re:‘Self-driving is hard’? No Duh, Elon on Friday July 09, 2021 @08:12AM (#27782861)
Word. I wish people stopped licking his ass.
Re:Common Sense about Audacity on Thursday July 08, 2021 @05:04AM (#27769696)
Like it happened with LibreOffice, I trust that a community fork will prevail.
The kind of people who hang around 4chan is fucked up; I've always said that.
Indeed. It’s tiring for me to keep reading papers written by people who believe in money as if it were the only driving force in people’s lives.
Re:BuzzFeed News Has Won Its First Pulitzer Prize on Saturday June 12, 2021 @05:21AM (#27483016)
Also, “Buzzfeed” is a genuinely silly name to have for a news site.
Notorious soulless corporation yet again thinks they can build a viable social platform.
Re:New Ubuntu installer will use Flutter on Wednesday February 10, 2021 @01:21AM (#26086183)
I’m glad they finally dumped their idea to use Electron to develop Ubiquity’s replacement.
Basically, LibreOffice hit this problem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-rider_problem
I call BS.
Re:“Font Wars 2.0: The Untold Story” on Tuesday September 29, 2020 @12:27PM (#24629811)
Thanks for speaking up about the psychological abuse you were subjected to. It was chilling to hear about people calling you imbecilic things like “fragile”. Nobody should be harassed out of a job!
… and nothing of value would be lost.
Re:India bans PUBG, Baidu and more than 100 apps linked to China on Wednesday September 02, 2020 @06:39PM (#24359023)
Pure fearmongering to carry favor with polarized followers of the party, not unlike what Trump does.
Re:Bardcore on Wednesday September 02, 2020 @06:26PM (#24358921)
This is the one great thing that has come out from this cursed year.
… and this is what machine-translation companies are taking as a corpus.
