Re:Google Inbox on Wednesday October 22, 2014 @01:05PM (#8493646)
I'm definitely not the target audience for this and I really hope that Google isn't going to force me to upgrade to Inbox. Looking at you G+.
If I understand correctly, companies cannot say "we have received X (let's say 9) requests".

So, is it possible for them to say "We have NOT received 8 or 10 requests"? This clearly doesn't say how many they have received but gives a clue that they might have received 9.

Please ignore me if this is silly.

"Sketch's file format has changed; documents are now truly single files and can be safely emailed or shared via Dropbox and other services without having to zip them up first"

Love this. No distractions, no internet, no spellcheck fixing things for you all the time, no other applications, no stupid notifications trying to steal your attention. Only him and his words.

If you don't have a Google+ account, this link forces you to create one. So I can't access these settings and I do not want a G+ account.

I'm unsure if they still can use my info on shared endorsements...

Re:Apple really needs two passwords, not one for everything on Monday December 10, 2012 @01:29PM (#4900685)
It's unfair to paid apps. I think during iOS 6 beta they tried no-password-asking-for-free-apps policy, paid app developers didn't enjoy.
This is their DMCA policy

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your comment. I thought you saved some info to yourself.

I'll update my comment above.

Thank you, yes I'm aware of these. I was trying to focus on the fact that the person who found this security hole used it to get some of this data to himself. But apparently I wasn't clear enough.

I'm still trying to improve my English. Next time I'll try to be more clear. Thank you.

Please read my comment again :)

You can find a security hole and report it. That's nice and good behavior. But when you say "I have compromised the data with me", then you are being evil.

I signed up to the app because I liked the idea and wanted to support them. I knew that their app was in alpha stage yet.

I'm upset about his behavior. I'm upset that his behavior might hurt 2 nerds' inspiration.

I'm not upset about he got my keys.

But you are right. His behavior is still better than not saying anything.

Update: I misunderstood, I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to attack but trying to show my concern because I thought he saved some id/keys for himself. Please ignore my comment below.

"Still managed to get a few dozen AWS keys though"

Good for you! What a nice person you are. Please abuse more small projects like this. Even if they say they say it was "was only meant for friends to test out".

Oh I see, you just found a security hole and trying to get some reputation? Cute. Please do it by abusing the small power you found and hurting innocent users. That's really, really nice of you.

"Still managed to get a few dozen AWS keys though"

Wow. Just wow.

You sir, just ruined my night. Thank you.

Ps. I am really concerned about your company and its users. If you can do something like this, I wonder what else you could do (or doing) at your current company. I hope, I'm assuming wrong.

edit: "the" » "your". last paragraph.

Trying it now (800mb is uploading).

This tool is great for me because the data I'm backing up is something I'll need to access maybe twice a year, or less. But I still need to have this data backed up somewhere.

I love how it's as simple as Dropbox. Set it up once, the rest is just drag and drop.

Re:Show HN: Storylane - People sharing things that matter on Thursday October 04, 2012 @04:16AM (#4611387)
Recommendation to the founders: Change the flow:

1. Story writing. As a guest, let me write my story right away. Give a few story ideas.

2. Sign up. Make it optional. Tell me I can share my story anonymously but if I want to keep it forever, allow me to sign up then.

Re:Show HN: Summaries of interesting content, written by people on Wednesday October 03, 2012 @01:02AM (#4605924)
Best. Bookmarklet. Tutorial. Ever.

Thank you.

I, too, needed something like this forever. Every time I see a long article, I complain about the lack of a tl;dr.

Unfortunately, I am not so optimistic about humans creating the content. You guys have a really, really hard job. Creating the right tools is easy. Convincing people to create tl;dr's is hard.

I'm really curious about how you are planning to solve this problem.

I really do hope that you'll succeed though : ]

Edit: Also, for me, this tool is great for articles that are new. Assuming you don't have enough contributors at the moment, after seeing a few articles that don't have tl;dr, I probably use the tool less and less everyday. Until I forget about it. I'm sure I am not the only one.

Delicious. An easy up/down vote way would be great.

Finally they're changing the iTunes icon. This might be the new one. http://dribbble.com/shots/51495-ItUnEs-10-1
Re:Ask HN: How can I get better at design? on Wednesday June 30, 2010 @06:05AM (#1474367)
When thinking about getting better at design, do not think making things pretty.

Instead, think how you can solve problems, how you can make your users' life easier. And this actually begins with a lot of thinking.

I cannot recommend you any specific sources but most of the people learn design by trying. If you want to improve your visual skills, look at other designers' works. Try to copy them (do not steal :), read tutorials.

Re:Why Favicons Rule the Internet on Friday March 19, 2010 @01:15PM (#1204600)
Favicons... Designers care, some developers care & internet addicts care.

the rest? nor really.
