This is cool, would love to see an npm package for this!

VirtualDJ[0] software lets you do this with their Stems feature in real time and works really well, and it's free I believe.

Ask HN: How do you find more clients as an independent contractor?

I have recently left a full time position and am having trouble staying afloat during the job search. I have experience working with clients as I've done this for a few years successfully but since leaving my day job my previous clients have found new developers or I've exhausted my list of current clients. I have full-stack experience with Node.js and PHP and use frameworks such as React,...

My guess is it uses geolocation APIs to match city to politicians in your district. Maybe even looks up politicians phone numbers by area codes that belong to those cities. This is just a theory of course.
I like how javascripters use `const` everywhere they can except actual constants!

Would this be a bad thing in the scenario one browser didn't implement the property properly? The webkit implementation could work fine but look awful on IE for example, which then you would simply not include it in IE.
Even better!

     ifThen(1 === 0, 5)
No need to calculate 2 + 3!

Can you tell me a use case using the "action" that's sent to "request.run", or is it passed just because it can be.

You probably do not want to store a promise in state, it's not really serializable

Awesome and hilarious article. Id just like to note `for (;;);` is not to prevent users from using bad JSON parsers like `eval` but prevent older browsers with little to no cross domain policy from loading it with a script tag and doing evil XSS by overriding Array or Object constructors or prototypes to pull that data
Wow, what's up Microsoft?
Re:I won't be using Angular for my next project on Monday April 06, 2015 @01:01AM (#9326648)
I don't think anyone will see this but here goes.

Try Meteor[1].

Over the past few years using things like Angular, mithril[2], React[3], Vue[4] Meteor, and Ember[5] for large production sites, I've found Meteor painstakingly easy to quickly build real-time "isomorphic" web applications. If you haven't tried it and you're thinking about creating an app with a FRP[6] app I recommend giving it a whirl.

Re:Ask HN: What's your stand about react.js patent clause? on Saturday April 04, 2015 @03:54PM (#9321968)
It's only a matter of time before React is replaced by a new, "better" frontend framework with superior licensing. I love React, but for now, I think Meteor suffices.
Of course take everything with a grain of salt.

The Hacker News community's comments are actually more intellectual than the writer's click-bait propaganda, and leaves room for debate on the author's one-sided views.

Re:When Children with Autism Grow Up on Monday February 09, 2015 @02:19PM (#9023058)
I just read your post, and though it may be hard sometimes just remember we are all unique and you shouldn't use autism to define you as a person. A lot of intelligent people experience these symptoms and psychs are always looking for your weaknesses to put labels on and prescribe pills for (I've been diagnosed differently 3 times, once with Aspergers). You are a smart individual, you don't need Aspergers to tell you that. Good read nonetheless, thank you for sharing.

Re:Show HN: Paste in CSV, get a sharable file on Monday February 02, 2015 @11:35PM (#8988875)
To be honest, there is not much need for a CSV host as most would just use Google Docs. It's a cool tool for hackers though.

I was about to mention the bad security of uploading personal documents to some guy's Heroku instance.

Instead found this a very unprofessional and destructive way to handle a bug report, and possibly illegal[1].

I guess it is not detecting my USB turtle beach headset. It says 'off' in the icon.

I can't figure out how to get this to work, if I set my output device to Hajo I get nothing
Why not allow an optional 2nd argument that defaults to 1 on your `but` library to do this?
Well it's not just about `this` but the arguments to pass to console rather. In this case:

    n.forEach(console.log.bind(console));
forEach is passing console all of its callback arguments, resulting in logging of keys, values, and array.

EDIT: Forgot array
