It serves both as a practical CLI tool for API testing and as a showcase of hica's standard library, libcurl bindings, and native compilation.
There are other similar, and more popular tools like HTTPie and Curlie but I believe hicurl solves some of the issues and takes it a step further with filtering and inferred routing.
I did a comparison to python which shows the differences, and where they are similar: https://www.hica.dev/docs/hica-vs-python/
Shen is very interesting, I actually created a lisp in hica as a learning exercise, check it out at https://github.com/cladam/hica-lisp
There is also the HML spec and a library at https://github.com/cladam/hml
This is a guide on functional programming which covers immutability, higher-order functions, pipelines, and more, all with runnable examples.
If that is to theoretical there is https://www.hica.dev/docs/hica-for-beginners/ that walks through functions, pattern matching, and lists by building real programs.
Happy to answer questions about the design decisions, the implementation or how to get started.
From my conclusion:
"If you already know Rust, you’ll read hica code fluently. If you’re learning hica first, you’ll find that many of its patterns (Result types, match expressions, immutability) transfer directly when you’re ready for Rust."

Show HN: Drift, an open source HRV reader
https://github.com/cladam/drift
It all started with me wanting to measure my HRV and I tried many different apps but wasn't really impressed, either they came with an expensive subscription or they had a very cluttered interface, and the PPG (photoplethysmography (using the camera)) wasn't that accurate IMHO. A wearable like a smartring or a wristwatch would probably been better but I didn't wanna buy one...So I started to...
Show HN: Ilseon, as a GTD "Capture" App
https://cladam.github.io/projects/ilseon/
I’ve always struggled with the Capture phase. Most apps feel too heavy in the moment. Even coming up with a title can be enough to break the flow.My app Ilseon (Android) addresses that specific problem. It’s not a full GTD system or project manager. It’s a targeted task manager designed to reduce mental noise and help users focus on one thing at a time.Ilseon has GTD elements in its workflow...
Show HN: Ilseon, a Minimalist Focus Filter
https://github.com/cladam/ilseon
I’m excited to share a new productivity app I recently released on the Play Store. It was born out of pure necessity to solve a problem I am constantly faced with: cognitive overload and task paralysis.Since traditional to-do apps only added to the mental noise, I eventually built a small tool for myself called Ilseon. I needed something that would actually reduce cognitive load.I have added...
