Looks great and it was nice to see Kimball's testimonial on the homepage (I got to Wharton and met him through his cousin who is a close friend).

Would love to see learn more about how you plan to solve chicken and egg problem.

As far as we know, we are the first to have a private sales store running inside Facebook

Geneva is not always an easy place for expats. I was living there for 3 years before moving to the US. If you need anything to make your stay more enjoyable (tips, etc), let me know. My email is my HN user name at gmail. Good luck!

Good points, thanks. Will include link to privacy policy and elaborate more in description. Was trying to cut down the copy to a minimum but I guess I went too far.

Ask HN: Our MVP for an ecommerce site (kembrel.com)

When we first started working on www.kembrel.com, we wanted to put out our MVP as fast as possible to get feedback from real users, iterate quickly and all that good stuff. Our idea is to apply the successful flash sales model to a large market, US college students and to build a very focused community around it. Like other business applying this model (Gilt, RueLaLa, JackThreads, OneKingsLane,...

Interesting. Will change the description to address some of your comments. The position is definitely paid (in salary, not stock).
Re:Arrington : "You’re Welcome, You Bastards" on Thursday May 13, 2010 @07:01PM (#1345985)
That's the first thing I thought. An intern or junior PR person taking initiative and then getting slammed by their boss. Now they (junior PR) have to backpedal to avoid getting shit from their old-school boss and, as a result, all of Fortune look like idiots.

I did! Let me know what you think.

I've contacted about 10 people off Sortflio. Of course the ones I like are probably the same ones that most other people like and therefore they are super busy.

Good idea on the mockup though, I should do that.

That's a pretty cool idea. However, I don't have any designers following me on Twitter so how would the right people hear about this?
Re:Ask HN: Can't find a designer. What am I doing wrong? on Tuesday May 11, 2010 @02:57PM (#1338870)
What do you think is a fair dollar value I should put to these things above?
Re:Ask HN: Can't find a designer. What am I doing wrong? on Tuesday May 11, 2010 @02:55PM (#1338862)
Don't worry, I am not being rude :)

Of course I don't expect anyone to work for free. I am willing to pay the fair price.

I'll pick talented and available.

For the personal homepage, I really like what Rafa did at http://rafaelcorrales.com/

You are right, I don't need much. Just someone to help me clean up a Tumblr/Posterous theme and integrate my different online presences plus Disqus.

Good point. I'll probably get better responses just mentioning the startup work.

Still, where do I find someone for my homepage and blog?

Ask HN: Can't find a designer. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Guys,I am stumped and need your help.So I've been trying to find a good designer to 1) help me design a personal homepage & blog theme and 2) help us with various design projects at our startup.Whenever I see a site/blog/app I really like I scroll to the bottom and the person/company who did the design is often listed there. I then follow the link, checkout the person's portfolio and...

I agree 100%. Writing that app was extremely beneficial in itself. It is an excellent forcing device to stop and think about the difficult questions.

That's great. Thanks!
