Entrepreneur on Fire has been very vocal about their income reports. Making over 200k a month.

Its a pretty good podcast as well.

Re:ESPN Public API Retirement on Thursday August 07, 2014 @04:23PM (#8149931)
What type of things were found via this api?
This should be pushed over to swintonreport.com. Not to push it as a site, but it does carry this type of pertinent information.
Re:A Way to Reverse Coronary Artery Disease? [pdf] on Wednesday July 02, 2014 @12:23AM (#7975169)
Does anyone have access to the PowerPoint described in this study for the in depth 5 hour course they took? I would like to see what exact foods were suggested to both eat and stay away from.

Thanks

Stop diagramming an just jump into the code...

Was with a advanced DoD company who was using this app to push the boundaries in the field for communications without walkie talkies or sat phones. The app worked extremely well and we were happy to win a contract based on what this app did for us and we built up from there.
Re:OpenStreetMap is now navigation-ready on Monday May 19, 2014 @11:53AM (#7768049)
I have totally converted to OSM with my startups.

We use it soley for all our mapping needs and it does quite well.

I really don't understand. Why resign, but rather fix the issues within.
Re:What 4chan thinks of HN on Wednesday May 14, 2014 @03:37PM (#7745819)
I would add two more things.

Im highly moderated to the point of killing users voices.

Politically selfish when it comes to talking about YCombinator. (Politics is alright, as long as YCombinator is doing it)

Just read something else he pushed.

He used some pretty strong words against the politicians.

Call Hillary a Neocon and corrupted, but he guesses she will win the next election. Page 5. http://www.gq.com/news-politics/newsmakers/201406/glenn-gree...

This all from a president the YC is hosting for a fundraiser. I bet he's saying, how do you like me know! Sorry my cynical behavior, but this is horrible.
Re:Invitation for DNC reception with Obama at YC on Tuesday April 22, 2014 @05:26PM (#7630560)
You need to quote sources for making such outlandish arguments.
Re:Invitation for DNC reception with Obama at YC on Monday April 21, 2014 @03:25PM (#7623109)
I couldn't agree more.
Re:Invitation for DNC reception with Obama at YC on Monday April 21, 2014 @03:22PM (#7623091)
Wow. I have been a long time follower of both hacker news and YC, but this draws the line.

To be a separate donor on political views alright, but to subscribe your company behind it, jeez.

Re:How Americans Die on Thursday April 17, 2014 @09:59AM (#7603545)
It interesting to see that drugs and suicide are the highest causes of death, well over that of guns. But we seem to be progressing more towards a drug open world and gun closed world. Do you see the Irony?
Re:IRS considers taxing work perks like food, gym memberships on Wednesday April 16, 2014 @01:03PM (#7598986)
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought foxnews of all places would be on HN...

Im a right leaning, financial conservative libertarian, but gosh. I am impressed.

Im a 29 year old. Moved to DC 5 years ago and if your job doesn't pay well, you won't have the means to buy a house. Housing is the biggest downfall here. They are just vastly too expensive.

Hiring? C# & .NET pro here.

Re:When the IRS 'likes' your Facebook update on Tuesday April 15, 2014 @04:25PM (#7594065)
I am for over complicating the tax code. Let me tell you why.

If we over complicate the tax code as well as complicate doing your taxes, maybe folks will finally get more upset with it.

The more folks get upset, maybe the more outspokeness to change it. The IRS is a huge problem and the loop holes are even a greater problem.

I am all for flat or fair tax at 9-13%. First you might say no, but with a flat tax, you no longer have to worry about filing taxes, but maybe a small slip of paper. Secondly, how much time is spent preparing and filing? Time could be drastically put back into the citizens rather than being taken away with another government task.

Here is the Ted Talk on the Microscope.

Its quite incredible.

Show HN: I built Swinton Report for unbiased, user driven news a HN clone.

I built SwintonReport.com as a clone to Hacker News. I built it mainly for the need for unbiased news for the US and world.I am sick and tired of the biased news show casing things, but not others. It doesn't depend what side your on, but rather what type of news you want to read now. Do you want to read Left Wing or Right Wing. I got tired of reading either or and this was created because...

Thanks for that.
Re:Ask HN: CTO wants me to leave on Saturday April 12, 2014 @10:56PM (#7580011)
I say tell him to fuck off. No offense to him or you, but if your willing to keep learning code, then say no and don't look back.

The great thing about being human is our ability to learn. If your willing to learn, then there is nothing to argue about. You want to keep doing this and that is that. It took me 7 years to get where I am now, but I believe I am excellent at coding, where I didn't know anything 7 years ago. So if your willing, tell him to back the f off.

I really appreciate this comment.

I have a start up I have been working on for almost 2 years. I am bringing in money, but not enough yet to be life sustaining. So I have a full time job and working every day on this startup. It can get rather tiring...

I was questioning its worth the other day, to keep going or to wait. But I must keep going. It doesn't take a year, but rather its a long drawn out process.
