What's wrong with GitHub Desktop? Just enter your commit message and click "Sync". Much easier than using the command line.

What I don't get is the sites that load ALL their content using JavaScript. Sure, I see the point in loading more content if the user scrolls down to the bottom of the page, but why would you do that straight away?

I'm guessing they're running a reverse SSH tunnel through their own servers which your devices then connect to to get to your hard drive. Probably connecting to a common port such as 80 or 443 to avoid any issues with firewalls.
