So if the parchment's carbon dating window contains the
known date in reality, doesn't it make more sense to throw away the
low end of the window?
(Unless of course, you just want to undermine the religion.)

The Chicago gas prices jumped up 50 cents the day after this hit the news.
Maybe they need to add a button that converts it to a normal spray?

I can't see how it's just a temporary marketing ploy, as your link suggests.
Nobody wants CHIP, they want the "$9 computer". I can't see how they can ever sell it for $39.
As a loss leader, with overpriced accessories - that makes much more sense to me.
They are probably too busy still counting the $2 million dollars they got from kickstarter.

>> Gauge transformations in physical theories can lead to possibly unpalatable conclusions if you believe a certain way. This sounds very interesting. Could you provide some examples?

especially for IPython Notebooks which need time to be read/appreciated.I agree wholeheartedly. You need to capture people's attention in 5 seconds or so.
That means visuals, soundbites, summaries, "what's-in-it-for-me", etc. You are in the media business whether you want to be or not.
Not that many people like wading thru two pages of math just to see if they might find something interesting.
1) Check their haplogroup. See what part of the world they came from. Put it on 23andme so people can see if they are related.
2) Test to see if they are his mother's bones.
Ironically, the author seems like he is the Rip Van Winkle here...
The half-life of DNA is 521 years. So, even if these were the bones of Christ, there would still be plenty of DNA available for testing.

But wouldn't a Lagrange point satellite appear to move in a completely un-star-like manner over the course of weeks and months?
But the stars don't stand still with respect to an observer on the ground.

Can a satellite "orbit" so that it imitates a star?
Or would it have to "stand still" out there, which would make it fall back to earth?
Funny the 2008 housing bust wasn't specifically mentioned. I'm still walking funny from that.
I've seen plenty of horrible Facebook posts as well, real names notwithstanding.
The problems run deep. Much older than the internet.
Your linked article says 2 weeks, not 16 months.
11 photos a day.
Speaking of habits, I just saw a wristband[0] that helps you get rid of bad habits.
Every time you do something you know you shouldn't be doing, you press the button on the wristband, and it shocks you.
That's right, you shock yourself. And people do it. Never saw that one catching on.
