I really love when personal development posts get bumped on here. Is there a community that is solely focused on personal development, life hacks, etc?Books, tips, experiments, really anything encompassing improving productivity & health.
Can someone explain why this is a big deal? The author cites that it doesn't need an explanation, but I definitely need one lol.
I’ll be anxiously awaiting your “from scratch” tutorials :)
Edit: not facetious. I very much enjoy reading your blog posts and HN comments.
Similar topic, but after having COVID and losing my taste and smell for a few weeks, all carbonated sodas "taste off" for me. I've talked to a few people who have had similar experiences and after a year later, all of my regular Cokes still taste off :/
What was your experimentation process like? I am in bed for 9-10 hours a night but only 3-5% of my sleep is deep. It’s awfully frustrating because of mood swings and inability to focus. I’ve been trying for a couple years now, but can’t nail anything down.
What sort of stack do you all use then to manage these clusters? Have you found any solutions to your conflicts?
I’m in the same boat. Supposedly Apple is working on native sleep tracking. Once that is the case, then I’ll switch over from Fitbit.
Do you have a specific philosopher or type of philosophy that you think contributed most to the better control of your emotions?
Do you have any recommendations on sources when I can read more about your viewpoint? I craving some inner peace after a month of almost constant fear and anxiety.
Lifting specifically, or any sort of physical activity? I’ve been running and IF for the past month in order to cut my BF %. I was at about 16%, but I’d like to get down to 12%.
This is the first time I've been introduced the concept of a Developer Roadmap, and I love it! Thank you so much for sharing and linking your sources as well! I am definitely going to do this.
So how do you keep yourself from become a "phone zombie"? Have you gone as far as to get rid of your smart phone? That is one thing I've heavily considered, but Spotify, Navigation, and High-quality photos are too hard to pass on.
This is a topic I've been pondering lately. Even looking around the internet for technical information/assistance has become harder due to all of the information that is now out there. How can we find sources or information that are truly meaningful and provide great value, rather than just mediocre or non at all?
Hahah I really appreciate the effort you put in with that
So what form of Mg are you taking?
I am interested in hearing more. Did you try Mg with the intent of grinding your teeth less?

Hi there! I am about to graduate and have recently become REALLY fascinated with databases, and I'd like to research them further. The problem is that all of my research of "Database Design" leads to something along the lines of "modeling schemas and data".Does anyone have any good references for someone who is looking to learn about the low-level database functionality (storage, indexing, data...
I have not. I didn’t want to put the time into learning the .NET stack and C# because I am from a .NET town and did not want to get stuck here. What're your thoughts on it?
I’ve given Flutter a try with one of my client’s apps, and in some cases, it’s obviously better than native development. Mainly because you can develop for both platforms. I’d be curious to hear where other developers think Flutter is a good framework to use instead of developing native code.
I know this article highlights the problems with 2018+ keywords, but even my 2016 Macbook, which is one of the first with the butterfly mechanisms, has given me plenty of problems: keys sticking, keys not pressing without a tremendous amount of force, double printing characters, etc.
It is frustrating because I love macOS, but having keyboard problems makes me reluctant to get another Macbook in the future.

I am currently finishing my Master's in CS, and am looking for an opportunity upon returning from my internship in Germany this summer. I am willing to work anywhere, on most projects, with most technologies as long as there are people who are willing to help me become a better developer.
That was an incredible response. Thank you so much for sharing your advice!

I am currently working for a startup and am one of 3 developers. Most of my work revolves around building the API in Node + Express as well as some small projects with MongoDB. The other developers don't really assist me since they have their own projects to work on, and, honestly, they have less experience and knowledge than I do.So my question is: What is the best way for me to go about...

Hi all,So I am about to finish my Master's degree in Computer Engineering, which means it is time for me to start looking for jobs. I've been talking to people as they've passed by on LinkedIn, but I also have applied for internships in Germany. I figured the language is cool, it's a different place, and I get to work on what I want to. Long term though, I want to start my own business here in...
Kind of curious about your position as I am in the same boat. Have you done any research while in your Master’s? If so, what sort of topics have you written about?

I have been developing apps for years now, but at a very basic level. As I look towards becoming a better developer, I am getting into more complex iOS apps that require asynchronous functionality and local storage. While, these concepts are not terrible to understand on their own, I struggle with finding the best practices among the polluted search results.Essentially what I am looking for is...
Yes, I think it's weird. Both because you notice it and because it is happening. I feel your frustrations with this hyper-connected life because this certainly feels like an addiction. I've worked through deleting social media. I've deleted apps off my phone. I've moved my phone outside of my bedroom. All of it seems to help a small amount, but not enough to keep me from moving to something else. Throwing up my hands and leaving seems to be a good solution as well, but not the whole world or my job, just the digital world, as much as I reasonably can. I miss having the ability to focus and remember, and I feel as if the only way I can accomplish my goals is to regain those skills.
