Ask HN: Fine-tuning Llama for humanizing AI text?

I’ve recently came across a bunch of tools that supposedly “bypass” AI detection tools. There are many, many of them. Some seem to be snake oil, some actually “do something”.AI detection tools that “work” are probably using a custom model to calculate average perplexities and burstiness. But, can someone fine-tune a model that does the opposite? I have yet to see an open-source version of these...

Hey HN!

The job market is brutal. You have to send out 100s if not thousands of resumes, maybe tweak them just a bit so that you'll hate this process and give up.

Meanwhile, the guy or gal who's in the same boat, is using a tool that automatically tailors resumes AND cover letters, and can apply to 5x more jobs than you.

I built ResumePlan to address exactly this problem. Mostly, for myself, because I used to do that. Hundreds of resumes, all modified just a bit for each company and job description. This was even worst with cover letters.

What makes this different:

- Unlike other services, you can start with your EXISTING resume and improve it - Make adjustments with AI writing in real-time - Deep focus on quantifiable achievements when rewriting resumes - Create cover letters and resumes extremely fast - Resume reviews work with tons of pre-trained data to give you feedback on your current resume

Show HN: ColoringMagician – Generate custom coloring pages using AI

https://www.coloringmagician.com

Hey HN!I made ColoringMagician because I got frustrated trying to find specific coloring pages for my niece. She's a true painter, always complaining about how she'd draw it differently if it wasn't a very generic coloring page. It's built using a custom model, with some tweaks to generate clean line art (turns out, making AI create consistently good coloring pages is trickier than I thought!)....

The carousel images are all AI generated headshots, some of the example selfies on the page are real selfies.

Lighting and in which setting the original selfies were taken do make a difference, which is why there is a guide on which selfies are good and which ones to avoid so the model won’t hallucinate during the training.

Maybe because there are millions of people that are not tech-savvy?

"you could still go to a local photo studio and get your picture taken by a professional"

- Please send me a list of local photographers in your area that charge $20 or less for professional headshots.

We actually don't have any subscriptions as of yet - everything is a one-time payment when you get to the checkout, so in its current state this does not even apply, so I removed that clause for now.

All of the photos are of real people (some are their actual selfies, some are their AI counterparts), that's why there aren't many of them on the landing page.

Show HN: Professional Headshots Using AI

https://www.portraitmaker.ai

Hey HN! Launching portraitmaker.ai - pro headshots generated uniquely for your face.Instead of using a generic model, I actually train a unique Flux LoRA model on your specific selfies. The idea is pretty simple:1. Upload 10-35 selfies 2. Within 30 mins while the model finishes training 3. Call the trained model with a bunch of custom prompts for perfect headshotsThe results are pretty WILD -...

Show HN: The Photo API for Developers

https://www.change.photos

Built an API to transform photos programmatically (resize, compress, sharpen, blur, rotate, grayscale, format conversion) with single HTTP calls. All tools are free to use (www.change.photos/tools), capped at 2-4MB file sizes, while the API offers 50 images/month on free tier - mainly for those needing to automate image processing at scale. Background: I used to use Photoshop to resize images...

Show HN: Screenshots as a Service

https://www.screenshot.fyi

I built screenshot.fyi to make taking programmatic screenshots dead simple. I was tired of dealing with headless browsers and complex screenshot automation setups, so I created a service that lets you capture high-quality screenshots with just an API call.Key features:- Simple REST API - Full page or custom viewport captures - No browser setup or maintenance needed - 100 free screenshots per...

Hey HN!

I built Peekzip to solve a common problem I had: safely inspecting ZIP files without downloading software or opening them and run the risk of ZIP bombs, remote code execution exploits and hidden executables or scripts.

Peekzip lets you instantly view any ZIP file's contents right in your browser. Just drag & drop, and boom - you can see everything inside. No downloads, no software, no security risks.

I’ve built this project mainly for my own use case, but wanted to share it here to get feedback and perhaps if someone else finds it useful.
