Re:Show HN: I made new search engine with DeepSeek's search API on Thursday October 29, 2026 @12:19AM (#50284523)
Sorry for late response, I found DeepSeek search has 128 characters limit on each search request. Now added workaround with Flash that shortens the query when it reaches 128 character limit.

It's new Search API from DeepSeek and they didn't have search UI. Most non-tech people were curious try. So I built for for fun mostly.

I mostly use iPhone Mail app for emails and I found myself needing summarizer but didn't want to install or signup to anything. So I built a server that would process inbound emails, summarize and sends them back as response within around 30s.I know it won't be convenient for people who deal with a lot emails to forward emails but an average lay person might find it useful.

Ever since ChatGPT came out, I wanted Safari extension for iOS to summarize web articles when I am lazy to read the whole article.

So I wrote my first shortcut that summarizes long page into small paragraphs using Official 'Ask ChatGPT' shortcut.

How to use:

Since it uses official shortcut of ChatGPT app, you need to have Official OpenAl ChatGPT iOS app installed. (Note that it won't work on MacOS.)

- Make sure ChatGPT app is installed. - Add Shortcut - While on Safari, click Share - Scroll all the way down and click SafariGPT - After 30-40 seconds, summary will be displayed. - Summary can be read aloud by VoiceOver by selecting Yes after summary is seen.

It utilizes ChatGPT app, so the summary will also be available in you conversion history.
