I would love to know if TCR has actually made a meaningful impact to stop spam.

Bug bounties paid for by the users :(
FWIW, this thread originally linked to a tweet from a Nepalese-based person who found it in a Nepalese FB group, hence the confusion. No ill intent.

In the area of BCI, what is the most "Science-Fictiony" thing you have seen made into a reality?

I believe in you guys! I know of this project through @Aquamine, she's a great artist!
Re:Flipper Zero – Tamagochi for Hackers on Thursday July 30, 2020 @08:04AM (#23997101)
Congrats on hitting your goal! What's it like watching the number go up?

The people involved in this are great, I don't have an interest in that kind of tech but I sent over a small amount.

Support people doing hackerspaces!

Re:Richard Stallman on Data Autonomy [video] on Sunday January 17, 2016 @01:10PM (#10920261)
In the video stallman states that nonfree software is in the control of the developer who owns it, which is true, but isnt a developer of free software equally in control of their software? I dont look into the source of every program on my OS, even though if i was to use 100% free software, I could. This means I am equally depending on the developer of the free software not to be malicious as I am the nonfree software.
Re:A game made with CSS/HTML only on Friday January 15, 2016 @04:00PM (#10912111)
Not nearly as cool as OP's post, but I once created a 'game' with only CSS and HTML as well:

Street fighter rock paper scissors

Re:Heim – A real-time community platform on Sunday August 16, 2015 @12:48PM (#10069398)
There's a trend of seemingly reinventing IRC and just putting it into the browser with a "hip" UI as of late.
Re:Recognising a Bad User Interface at First Glance on Thursday July 02, 2015 @08:00PM (#9822534)
>Use of image-only icons/buttons that have no distinctive meaning

There's nothing worse than this, along with no alt-text on web pages. With font-icons being so common nowadays, designers want to remove all text and revert back to hieroglyphics.

What is "blockchain tech" in the context of mobile apps?

Re:GitHub's down? on Wednesday May 06, 2015 @07:45AM (#9497899)
Understandable, but surely the potential disruption if github was to go down for a long time or indefinitely would be more than setting up a local git server that you control?
Re:GitHub's down? on Wednesday May 06, 2015 @07:37AM (#9497852)
perhaps a good time to reconsider depending on a third party for your important services to deploy?

I went and had a look for the AI I had seen before, here's it on gist if anyone would like to read it (it's 28,000 lines).

Isn't the current AI scripting done in Lisp?

Re:Manyland on Saturday October 11, 2014 @05:01PM (#8443436)
Looks like you trust the client on their window.ig.game.O722.rank, which allows people to remove blocks at the center and trap people. Check area 2, I think.
Re:ATM hack 'gives out wads of cash' on Wednesday October 08, 2014 @04:34PM (#8429314)
I fail to see how this is anything more than bad physical security. No malicious person should have physical access to the machine's internals.
Re:GitHub Student Developer Pack on Tuesday October 07, 2014 @04:06PM (#8423678)
This would be so, so useful to me as someone who left college last year & has been self-learning programming since (college was for a CCNA-esque qualification). I applied, but I don't know if I will qualify for it.

Could any of the github people in this thread let me know if I have a chance? The Digitalocean, namecheap, hackhands would be so insanely useful for me.

EDIT:

Thanks to John Britton from github for manually approving my request.
