I wonder if the author is one of those people that doesn't have an audible inner monologue?

Re:Apple broke an essential presentation feature of iPads on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @10:00AM (#50166615)
Stage manager and liquid glass were 2nbig flops. Stage manager because it’s unusable and adds clutter to the screen and liquid glass because it makes an m1 ipad pro feel like a 2010 device
"Ai did it" will go down as well as "I was following orders" did in the Nuremberg trials

Paint.net has done Paint right for many years now...
Re:Things to know if you get cancer in 2026 on Thursday October 15, 2026 @09:14AM (#50103199)
When my mother got surgery for breast cancer, she underwent chemo and radiation. Then begun complaining about very sharp pain in her right side ribs. The surgeon decided to remove the gallbladder. Then the pain got worse, she was sent to psychiatric evaluation, which was clean. The whole thing took a year. Finally, they did a scintigraphy: turns out she had a tumour on her dorsal vertebrae that had collapse and fused 2 vertebrae. She went on to live a couple more years until 2017 when she finally died from a mixture of cachexia and opioid poisoning (low kidney function coupled with a morphine injection at the hospital), cancer already had spread from the breast to the spine, and liver. Before all this, when the cancer was presumably only in the spine, she was offered a experimental treatment with radioactive strontium at the Champalimaud center. Unfortunately, we didn't had enough money at the time. I'm pretty sure things would have been very different now, but I would say to anyone with cancer: get a PET scan if you have strange "psychological" symptoms after having had cancer in the past
Skill issue. Could have just used the new apple watch or an LG tv
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @05:06PM (#50078747)
The worst part is that it seems they just regex it with the semicolon, making the text harder on the eyes
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @03:19PM (#50077134)
Just wait until you try to use the Google Cloud Console
Meanwhile, inside your odd sandboxed environment there's an agent changing a folder name to "zz_thermostat-disabled_answerkey_not_in_carrefour"

I missed the em dash — ngl

I enjoy it. Many readers here look specifically for Simon's pelican comment when a new model launches
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @12:14PM (#50074086)
Gemini 3.1 is still SOTA at weird handwriting recognition. If Argon is better it will be amazing

Re:Beam: Reflection's 501B open-weight model on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @08:01AM (#49977204)
If that’s the case i take it all back. I thought this was another venture by Matt Shummer’s Reflection Ai
Re:Beam: Reflection's 501B open-weight model on Monday October 05, 2026 @10:43PM (#49973537)
Does this one also routes to Claude under the hood like Reflection 70B did? I recall they even run a basic regex to remove "Claude" from the output. Then they promised to be completely transparent on the postmortem (they claim they had no idea what had happened), but the postmortem never came
I can't not read it as "They vibe coded a patch in 50 minutes". Had they used Sol 6.1 they would still be waiting
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @06:14PM (#49915177)
the thing is, by the time gemini 4 is available for regular folks, anthropic and openai will probably have much better models already rolled out
The most impressive jump for me is in the low hallucination rate, which is specially impressive given how bad Gemini current models are on this regard

Re:GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @01:18PM (#49896821)
It was so underwhelming that it didn't even make it to chatgpt chat interface
Not sure why I'm being down voted. She was initially diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome aka "the suicide disease" for how much pain it causes, and heavily medicated. Her official genetic test didn't found anything, but trough years of iteration of a mixture of codex and Claude code over her raw genetic data we built a working theory of what might be wrong and trough cupious daily notes, labs, and over several iterations of feeding the notes to different ais (whatever was the best Ai at the time, with the exception of fable due to the refusals), we manage to get her to a much better situation where she can now tolerate touch up to the toe line and can also tolerate phisioteraphy. Turns out her genes point towards a very weird energy and electrolyte deficit that must be approached from a very unique angle. The first real impact of an llm on the condition was via o1-preview
Well, if it wasn't for llms my wife would still be bedridden 24/7 and doctors would still be thinking the problem was mostly psychological. So if OpenAI wants to pay me, just reach out and I'll share everything to my dozens of social media followers

Please update with your feedback
so, it IS a glorified if/else block, just in an actual awesome sense and not in a derogatory sense :D
Re:Xiaomi MiMo v2.6 on Monday September 21, 2026 @04:47PM (#49793175)
I still have a xiaomi mi 11 lite, my wife has a 15t. The cameras are the best for the price. The way they chove ads down your throat at every opportunity should be illegal though
