Re:How to get rich in tech on Thursday December 24, 2015 @12:44PM (#10788937)
Some of the best advice I've read in this thread so far. I'd recommend reading:

1. The Richest Man in Babylon

The $7.89 I spent on this book, which I read in a single night, is the best investment I ever made.

2. Think and Grow Rich

An older book, but there are some golden nuggets within.

Step 1: Spend less than you make. Step 2: Take risks when you have enough of a safety net. Step 3: Fail/retry or succeed.

You don't need to be from a rich family to do these things.

Read all the Dune books through Mentats of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Loved them all! Favorite series ever-- love, politics, philosophy, technology, fantasy. Brilliant.

Totally. I went home and started hacking until the early morning hours like I hadn't done in years.
