Apple can bring in new users beyond Pixelmator's wildest dreams. This is definitely a product/talent acquisition. And Pixelmator has almost 2 decades worth of development already baked in, not sure how anyone can do it cheaper.
I'm happy it worked out for you!
You're welcome but frankly I shouldn't do this nor should any one besides Apple. Apple has failed the community of PWM and temporal dithering sensitive individuals for almost a decade now, and hopefully this project can raise awareness and become additional proof against these technologies.

Recently got an M3 Max MBP which gave me severe eyestrain after less than an hour of use. Turns out the major cause for that was temporal dithering at the GPU level. I built Stillcolor to disable temporal dithering from user space, which helped massively reduce eyestrain with little to no degradation in image quality.
Adding USB-3.1 back now will only serve to confuse customers and 3rd party device/accessory manufacturers.
What is "low usage" by Google's standard? A million users? 10 million users? What may look like a blip on Google's radar possibly eclipses a successful startup's entire profit-generating user base.
Wikipedia's content license allows that and probably saves them a bunch of bandwidth costs to boot.

I've only checked the anchor tag, and it is lacking.
It should link to the URI RFC to illustrate all possibly valid syntax for the href attribute. Also doesn't mention 'javascript:'
Google has its own TLD? Neat.
What does "going gold" mean in the videogames industry?
Should show a loading progress indicator for the demo because that took ages & I thought it was broken until I inspected Console.
Controlled magnetic fields!
Not using true red. This is what I'm using #AF476E
Thanks! Yes this fixes it. Updated the page.
Will put up the source code on Github very soon. I just need to organize everything a bit.
It's very hit and miss in terms of code editors. For example Sublime Text has no complex text shaping at all. It actually renders Arabic as disjointed letters.
The JetBrains series of IDEs have some Arabic support, in the sense that the text is rendered properly at least.
I made an Arabic Markdown editor for the Mac last year, so that personally helps me when I need to edit Arabic text http://katibapp.com/
There's a lot left to be done for Arabic. So much low-hanging fruit.
The font's designer here- glad you guys like it!
I wasn't ready to put this up on HN because I didn't have an English page yet, but @specifictso has gone ahead and posted it.
The font is licensed under the SIL Open Font License as mentioned.
There's less than 10 Arabic monospaced typefaces out there and Kawkab Mono comes to fill a gap in this area. Might not be as highly demanded as Latin monospaced fonts, but still, it's great to have variety.
This is very much beta software as I haven't really tested the font outside of my personal setup. I've had no type design experience prior to this project. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Computer Modern, the typeface built for TeX using Metafont that gives academic and research papers that signature, serious look, was designed by Donald Knuth with the guidance and advice from Hermann Zapf.
The login link on top takes you to a non-secure page :/
Web-based proxies are not anonymous. Specifically, Javascript proxification is lacking in all of them, and your IP address will leak one way or the other.
That is possible under Mac if you use the "Arabic QWERTY" keyboard. See this link for instructions
http://katibapp.com/help/arabic-on-mac/#learnersofarabicwill...Additionally, you can use the "Keyboard Viewer" when Arabic is selected as a keyboard layout and hold shift. This will show you which keys render diacritics.

Neat gizmo. But seems you have to be constantly worrying about the power module:
- Adjust the unit's placement so flames don't melt the power module
- Make sure it doesn't overheat
- Re-charge it when not in constant use
Also I can see myself burning my hands trying to wiggle USB plugs in.
Could've used more work in the product design department.

You can get a dedicated server with 128GB ECC RAM and 2 SSDs for $188 at Hetzner. 188 bucks. Wow.
I guess the original post perfectly explains how such low prices are attainable (no customer support, etc).
