Re:RethinkDB 2.0 is amazing on Friday April 17, 2015 @03:35PM (#9396673)
Along with all of this, the team behind rethink DB is really very helpful. Team was always patient when I was new. They always helped. This is one the very few projects that I felt right at home. Rethink DB had(during the days I was trying to use IRC) atleast one core developer available on IRC every day from Monday to Friday. Congratulations team!
It is ironical, in asking me to speak for myself you are using the "royal" us.
I myself am an immigrant. I seriously don't see any need, because all the new immigrants will keep their eyes and ears open to see if their application is selected. All citizens/ existing immigrants, don't really care.
OK and why is this the top of HN? Because of the number of applications?

The number of applications is slightly higher than last year, but still I fail to understand why it is on the top, because this same thing was happening for the last 4+ years.

My application was picked up in the year 2013, so I have been following both HN and the USCIS at that time. Never saw it make top of HN.

Re:Ask HN: What are you doing to improve your health? on Friday April 10, 2015 @01:40PM (#9355881)
I exercise everyweek day, I meditate twice a day everyday, I play atleast 4 chess 5 min games. I have been doing this over a year and I think I'm healthy.

I make it a point to sleep atleast 8 hours a day, and sleep for 7.30+ hours everyday.

Re:Mathematics for Computer Science on Thursday April 02, 2015 @04:58PM (#9313160)
Being a CS student in my Bachelors I was able to spend sometime on Number Theory. But the lectures here blew mind.
Re:Super Mario 64 HD on Friday March 27, 2015 @01:23PM (#9277705)
This is super awesome. Is the code available too?
This is good, but how do I add multiple lessons? I don't see how to do it. It's not very user friendly.
Re:Another update on the Truecrypt audit on Wednesday February 18, 2015 @05:38PM (#9071432)
Do you have any source to say Truecrypt becomes outdated? The last I checked, it was working just fine in Windows 8.

I don't think anything would be _drastically_ changing in Windows 11 and 12.

That's really bad for a country like USA. In India we atleast have access > 5 providers in big cities.

( Though, yes I agree there is no Internet in villages, but it's slowly changing )

Wonderful. As a heavy Lyft user, I'm looking forward towards the same in NYC - NJ area.
Re:100 Years of Computer Science on Friday January 16, 2015 @03:20PM (#8901426)
I liked the first two papers. Also when two years prior I did read the Shannon's paper. Must read for anyone looking for some Theoretical Mathematics.

I think there is more to it.
Re:Nokia 215 on Tuesday January 06, 2015 @11:53AM (#8845350)
I don't believe this to be something new. My mom had been using this ( very very similar - the OS) from Nokia since 2009. Nokia released many such cellphones in India.
Re:Show HN: WordsAPI on Monday January 05, 2015 @05:34PM (#8841700)
Thank you. I was looking for an API only yesterday, and didn't find any that is as good as this one. Even the Princeton University one didn't fit into my workflow, because it is overly complex.
Re:List of Computer Science Courses on Sunday December 28, 2014 @11:26PM (#8808537)
Guys how do I take this class? There is no way I can do this online?
If there is one story that changed me today, it's this. Kudos to you sir. With no internet/help you still pursued your passion and built this from Ground UP.

Thank you for the inspiration, and have a great career ahead.

Re:Mozilla’s Add-on Policy Is Hostile to Open Source on Tuesday November 25, 2014 @05:54PM (#8660271)
I too, for one think that the headline really tries to make the problem look bad by linking it to Open Source.

Wow. This is awesome. I never really, really understood Markov Chains. Really very well designed.
Re:Hater News – Now for Twitter and Reddit on Wednesday November 12, 2014 @09:47AM (#8595599)
Concept is nice, landing page and the website are nice. What needs more work is the algorithm for determining hate. Almost all the comments that Hater News chewed out of my Reddit username were not at all* trolling. Indeed some statements were even contributing to the discussion.
Re:I Hope Twitter Goes Away on Thursday October 30, 2014 @05:51PM (#8536034)
Lots of Negativity here again. Most of the commenter here are saying it is wrong when he says Twitter should die because it doesn't encourage good communication, and then blocks his own comments section. It just means he wants to have a meaningful communication.

He says, you can email him, or write your own blog post to refute or add on to what he says. That way you will be facilitating a great communication.

Re:I Hope Twitter Goes Away on Thursday October 30, 2014 @05:49PM (#8536023)
He says though, you can email him, write your own email blog, except that you don't comment on his blog.

Does that mean he doesn't want communication to happen?

I'm really interested in this. Especially Germany. Do any one of you have a link handy for me to see the good Universities in Germany? Please? Thx

Thank you!
Re:“You Don't Know JS” Book Series on Monday October 20, 2014 @12:46PM (#8483091)
I read this book a little when it was in its infancy. The author does a good job of explaining the closures
I think so too. The image first looked weird, and then I realized this.
