Sounds like this would work nicely with vim³[0]

And a [stone tablets] tag like what we'd do for a video

There's also vim^4 which is great for writing in Forth
I really enjoyed the Martian and have found it to be a nice distraction if I'm bored - it's not too heavy and short enough to read in one sitting, but has plenty of entertainment nonetheless.

Otherwise, the Hitchhiker's Guide is always a great read.

Anything by Dostoevsky.

My district had already given all high school students Chromebooks; when they announced the closures they provided all students (K-12) with the same. For families without internet access, hotspots were acquired and distributed. It was great! Having done all this, though, they forbade the instruction of any new content and closed the grading system.

Teachers still do videoconferences via Google Meet and/or Zoom, but it's mostly for social interaction rather than teaching.

On mobile, some sites refuse to show anything other than their "Go ahead, download our app!" page. In many cases, switching to desktop view doesn't work.

Apple has consistently been dumming down their products[0] for the past few years (decades?), in the name of ostensible usability and looks. If they continue along this trend, given that iPadOS is generally more dummed down than macOS, the former will eventually replace the latter.

As for having a single appleOS, we're talking about the company that owns (1) watchOS, (2) iOS, (3) iPadOS, (4) macOS, and (5) tvOS - I believe that's more than Microsoft and Google combined.

[0] They're slowly making everything more touchpad-centred and graphics-oriented, for example.

The main problem I see with this is that while we wouldn't have to pay any mortgages etc, we wouldn't be able to receive paychecks either. This means we can't, say, buy food.

tl;dr: a giant balloon filled with an atmosphere of similar composition to the Earth's can float in the Venusian atmosphere. Humans could live in such a balloon. This allows for all sorts of interesting possibilities in terms of colonization (floating colonies!).

At the same time, it is faster to get to Venus than to Mars, and Venus could become an interesting stopping point on the way to Mars.

This document does not argue that only Venus should be colonized, but that Venus could be a stepping stone towards a Mars colony.
