I'm a Singaporean student on exchange to the Bay Area and looking for Summer internships (~May to August). Decently experienced in web development with a focus on frontend (react/tailwind/next) but I consider myself a generalist who can pick up new skills quickly and is willing to do so.I'm on an F1 visa, so I'm not able to get paid, instead, what I'm looking for is experience and the opportunity to work with passionate developers building something they believe in. If you're hiring and I seem like a good fit, please email me and we can set up a chat.
Show HN: I built a chess engine and AI in JavaScript

A few months ago, I saw a post on HN detailing how to build a chess AI. He used Chess.js as the engine, choosing to focus on the AI portion, but that was a bit slow and clunky so I've been building one of my own.On 5s of thinking time, it beats Fairy Stockfish Level 6 on Lichess. Try it and lmk what you think: betafish.gavinong.com

I saw this post on HN around 3 months ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31964685) and it fascinated me.3 months later and I have a fairly decent AI (~ beats the 2200 bot on chess.com) and would like to share it. It's been my favourite project and honestly chess programming is super fulfilling and a huge time sink. hope ya'll enjoy
