I love free market competition. We're getting insane advancements every day. I remember when llms used to cost an arm and a leg for decent intelligence
Re:Cloudflare Quick Tunnels on Friday September 18, 2026 @10:47PM (#49762818)
Cloudflare tunnels are really useful when dealing with webhooks. Way better than Ngrok and you can set it up on a custom subdomain you own. eg: site.yourdomain.com
Re:Pion, an agent designed to run any company autonomously on Monday September 14, 2026 @03:14PM (#49702377)
Correct me if I'm wrong but a human will be able to cut through the noise with quirky advertising, new/novel distribution methods, etc.

Most of the bottleneck in business isn't building the things or sourcing, it's mostly advertising/sales.

These specifically require doing something unique or interesting.

Sure, maybe LLMs can help with fulfillment or operations, but distribution still remains the hard part.

Re:We Must Pace the Frontier on Saturday September 12, 2026 @03:43PM (#49676431)
Never thought China would be the leader in open source AI. OpenAI and Anthropic are making fools out of themselves. The reason they want this is likely because they don't own the compute and their models get distilled shortly after releasing them
They have an ICP, a no-brainer offer, and they reach out to hundreds of people per day. They also test multiple offers. That's literally it.

Most people can't get customers because they don't do enough targeted consistent volume over one channel.

For example, email requires minimum ~300 targeted sends per day to see any sort of replies. Anything less and you're guessing.

The people running ads spend thousands per month before they have a winning angle, and even then target relatively modest ROAS.

People who make content make it with little views for months or years before finding something that works.

All of this takes time, and more volume than you could imagine. Take however many outreaches you think you should be doing per day, and 10-100x it. That's the real number.

And anyone who tells you "all cold outreach is spam, don't send it!" doesn't understand the game. Most people who view your content/outreach won't buy or find it interesting. The whole point of outreach is to find the 1% who do.

So TLDR: Do more volume and test more offers. There is no shortcut. The people who are winning mostly do more volume than you do.

Re:Does AI stop children from learning? on Friday August 21, 2026 @03:18PM (#49392682)
School has always been about creating compliant workers, not educating people. They will double down on "performing the right things" and "morals" while the economy will continue on its K shaped path as AI gets more capable.
Fix: Just switch to OpenAI, Grok, or other LLM's. They provide better performance and respond with 5 sentences. They also don't lecture you when you get angry.
Re:Accelerating GPT-5.6 Sol Ultrafast on Thursday August 13, 2026 @07:56PM (#49293214)
Would gladly switch over to OpenAI and pay them 2x what I'm paying Claude if this becomes generally available
Ai on its own makes mediocre (or bad) outputs. But humans using Ai get improved returns. This doesn't show that Ai is bad, only that it's being used inefficiently.
Or just use Linux.
Re:Proving a Human Wrote Something on Friday July 24, 2026 @02:36PM (#49039867)
Detecting Ai use based on "how many keystrokes did you type and when" doesn't solve the problem, because someone can just write a program to mimic human typing in the words.

So the issue isn't "did a human write something", it's what the actual content is

Excited to use it? Will we be seeing Haiku 5 next? /s
Re:Advertise in ChatGPT on Tuesday July 21, 2026 @03:12PM (#48996774)
Funny how none of their testimonials/case studies state any ROI. I'd guess it's because it isn't too strong at this point.

But it's always been the case that initial bidders overpay for ads.

These are all fairly standard terms.... nothing crazy

I've managed to get close enough w/ kde. I just asked claude code to implement it for me, and it web searched and built config files.
Re:Anthropic installed a spyware bridge on my machine? on Sunday April 19, 2026 @11:24PM (#47830069)
But that won't fit the narrative that Antrhopic is an evil company nickel and diming their users...

From their X:

Re:Can Claude Fly a Plane? on Tuesday April 14, 2026 @08:17AM (#47764635)
I wonder if using a model with a higher TOK/s would yield improvements, as the model will have faster feedback loops

Thank you so much for making this. Screen studio was unbelievably expensive for what it was
Re:MCP is dead. Long live the CLI on Sunday March 01, 2026 @01:15PM (#47209196)
This is actually the first use case where I agree with the poster. really interesting, especially for technical people using ai. why would you spend time setting up and installing an mcp server when u can give it one man page
use the new gpt oss to have 0 logs end to end. but cool project
I used it twice. It's good. You can also just take payments under your own name if it's a small project but otherwise stripe atlas is good. Only pay the delaware llc fee every year and that's it.

Ask HN: How do you monitor your side projects?

Hi, I'm a developer in college who has built a side project which generates around $2k ARR in revenue. I'm looking to build a second product which helps users monitor their applications in production, and I wanted to ask a few questions.- Which product do you run?- Which tools do you use to monitor it in production?- What's the biggest annoyance you have with current tools?I'd be happy to help...

I made a vscode extension which I charge money for. I mainly relied on reddit + seo to gain users. Eg: I made interesting reddit posts, and made a pretty website. Then users find it organically
Re:Ask HN: How Do SaaS Startups Choose Payment Gateways? on Saturday July 06, 2024 @03:30PM (#40892623)
For me it was the developer experience and credibility. I run a small project (~4k arr) and I don't mind paying fees since it was so easy to set up. Also, the investment required to learn these things. I don't want to spend a lot of time configuring everything, I just want a simple page and that's it.
