+1 for trying to stay as minimal as possible. Great principles.
How did you manage to do the answer tapping mechanism in the thread? Is it a similar interface to Google Scheduler?
Ok this is amazing. Feedback on intros is so important, and I really need something like this for my professional workflow. Wondering on the experience from the receiving end and how receptive they are? I've used some email-based scheduling assistants and they are chaotic with communications.
Loved the Monty Python reference :)
Thank you for taking the time to write this! Extremely helpful and thought provoking. I did not consider the option of leveraging my high amount of the company's crypto (which is indeed worth > 0$.
Yes, at some point over 90% of blockchain companies had lots of talk and less to show for it. Without getting into too much details, this company is not one of them (according to many articles and observations of other people..not my subjective thinking alone).
LOL. loved your comment! You hit the spot with your assessments and thanks for doing the research behind it. I think I should probably run best and worst case scenarios with the cap table alongside me. I agree that from the looks of it, it's pretty risky.
Thanks for your answer! You hit the spot with some things. I am definitely emotionally involved with the company and considered the option of exercising only some of the options - that might be the best option at the moment. One thing to point out is that there is still a month worth of raising time (with all employees still in the company), which is significant in startup terms.
Yes, at this point I believe the company might sell the product or manage to raise sufficiently to rehire employees and exit at a later stage. In the first scenario the payout will not be as big, but it might still be significant.

About 2.5 months ago I left my executive position at a promising blockchain startup. As I am nearing the end of my 90 day period for option exercising, i've come to know that the company sent out prior notice to all employees a few days ago, as it is struggling to raise money. All 3 founders are at work trying to raise capital in the upcoming month before money runs out and they are also...

What works better for a co-founder? Do people even know what CBDO stands for?
You're right, though it got me thinking about what is the actual offer...
If they are offering 5% this might mean much less.
After the 1m round, there is an expected dilution of 25%. Additionaly, the ESOP will have to be refilled (since I will be getting most of it) which will dilute with another 10%...
My current estimate is that if N is what they are offering me than the real offering is expressed by N(1-N)0.75. So if they are offering 5% this actually means 3.5%.
Im wondering if they take this into consideration when they say "fully diluted".
"But there is nothing preventing them from reassigning some of their stock to you"
This will actually result in a tax event valued at the company's value no? This is the reason they offered ESOP in their claim.

Hi all,I've been working with a SaaS company for the past few weeks to test our compatibility as co-founders. The company has raised 1M so far but burned all of it over the last 3.5 years..They have now pivoted (hence the understanding that they need a new co founder). There are currently 2 co-founders and 3 employees.
I was offered 5% from the ESOP and a minimum wage salary (as the company...

Hi all,Im trying to design my career path in Business development after closing a startup of my own (As Head of BizDev). One of the hardest things with job searching is understanding whether it is better to have a big title (and a salary that fits it) at a small unknown company or go for a smaller title at a known brand.I am currently interviewing for a Business Development Manager position at...

I recently won a competition and got this small yet fun reward. Since I only need a premium WIX account and a server, i'm having a hard time thinking of other "essential services" to spend this money on. I only have a few more days to do so.Any ideas??Thanks!
Wouldn't 25% deter possible investors? I was thinking of asking for 10% and settling on 5% because I want the company to succeed.

My co-founder and I (based in California) have been building a startup for the past year, which has been getting some healthy attention from investors. Since we do not get along, my co-founder wants to split the company and its assets between the both of us so that each person will continue building the concept as competitors. Since we each have 50 percent of the company, we are currently...
