37Signals nailed it. I have been working remote for FormAssembly for almost a year and it is amazing in many respects.
We're hiring strong PHP dev's. www.veerwest.com/jobs <-- The Makers of FormAssembly.
This looks wildly impressive.

VeerWest (Dba. FormAssembly.com) is seeking an awesome system administrator. LAMP (Linux Chef). We are also seeking a customer support representative and an intern position. We're 200 users strong and we integrate very nicely with Salesforce. www.veerwest.com/jobs
From my experience (and as much as Python is a kick ass & ever growing programming language) the Rails community hands down has a more supportive and extensible reach for the n00b. I am not insinuating there is a lack of Python support, however the Ruby/Rails community really prides itself on attracting new people & non-technical people into the fold. Here in Toronto the Rails Pub night & it's supportive group is a large part of why I decided to start out learning Ruby & my upcoming participation in the Chicago Code Academy (CodeAcademy.org) program.
I think it is also important that one will find support where one is eager to learn. Python is a great language, however the Ruby & the Rails community is a better "Learning" fit for me. The vibe is right. Find your vibe and run with it.
My vote goes to Ruby/Rails however I am certain many can make a similar Python case.
CodeAcademy.Org (Course offered in GroupOn HQ in Chicago is the real deal from what I hear). @CodeAcademy (not to be confused with an up and coming online resource @CodeCademy.
Check out: joinTreeHouse.com (formerly Think Vitamin) & Codeschool.com. Tons of resources now to dabble & learn. Glad you enjoyed!

I am 34 & learning. My answer to your question is whatever you think. If you think it is too late then you are right. The opposite holds true and I hope the latter is your belief.
http://JaretManuel.com/hackerville list some of the resources in this posts comments and replies. Go create some luck! Best success.

I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to wake me up and get going, rather than retreat~ Sylvester Stallone
I eat what people like him will spit out on a bad day! Bill Cosby said I don't know the key to success but the key to failure is trying to please everybody!
I screw up a ton, I will screw up a ton more, the difference is I am not afraid to rock the boat. When the boat crashes, I will swim. The key is we learn and help others to learn. A grandiose attitude is for inferior people who have issues getting laid or a low self esteem! Appreciate your comments!
Your 2 cents doesn't count. Just kidding. I have outlined for the most part if it is an Apple resource (it is the first one), etc. There are people who disagree with this resource being useless. Something I clearly failed to do and I was trigger happy in the process was calling the subject "Startup Hacker Beginner Resource guide" or something to that effect.
Why Ruby/Rails? I have included some Python resources. "Startup" Hackers will use lots of these tools and then some.
If plenty of people say a certain resource is junk then I could pull it but I am confident there are some quality resources. I do not have to be an expert to know if something is decent or not as I put plenty of time into this.
To answer your question and be as open as my introduction to the page, I just started learning HTML/CSS & Ruby.
Also, I think you meant to say "Short" not Shot /typo.
I clearly failed to use a proper term of a startup Hack or Hacker. My bad to the masses in the peanut gallery of correctness.
Never assume, it's bad for your health and usually incorrect. Thanks again, as I appreciate your input.
Happy to put in a list for you as this is outside of my domain. I sense a "Hacker" attack coming on :) /Learning
I completely screwed up. I meant to put Startup "Hacker" resource page as I beginner's resource page. My apology to the hardcore "hackers" of the world. May you make it through the day!
I don't know much about Lisp, or much of anything yet as this is part of my research and hence why I asked for improvements. Specific suggestions welcome. Thanks for sharing.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I see your point. Thanks for sharing.

Although is wasn't my favourite politician (for my own provincial reasons shall we say) Brian Tobin started out very young. I believe he was in university or dropped out and was on a local radio station for a bit. One has to respect his accomplishments.
The separatism issue is far from over in Quebec. The NDP is the hero of the day or shall we say a "testing of the waters". If Quebec doesn't like this test, they'll banish the NDP is quick as they came in, and it will not surprise me in the least if the PQ win the provincial election as well.

jaretmanuel.com/hackerville The further you can dig in on the technical side the better advantage and more value you will be to your endeavour. Good luck.

Thanks. The cheap way is a fine route, and I saw some Ikea hacks. I think I would like to have a combination of sorts eventually. Appreciate everyone's comments.

I recently read an article that mentioned "standing desks" and I am curious if any of you use them? If so, sharing your setup and tips etc would be great.
There are some great tips here. I will stick to basics:
-Refined Sugar is bad, and even worse is fructose. Avoid it as much as possible. So avoid cola/pop (I cut it out years ago) and stop adding sugar/sweeteners to your tea/coffee.
-Eat lots of fruit and don't worry which has a low GI or not.
-Almost all unsalted nuts will be good for you. Almonds, Peanuts, etc.
-Unsalted/Sugar Free trail mix will be good.
-A blender, blueberries, banana (freeze it if you have to), and all natural (non hydrogenated) peanut, almond or sunflower butter should be your best friend. It is super quick to whip up a shake.
Once you make this a habit you will want to rid the other stuff. Exercise is advisable as well as that will further lower your cravings.
-Drink lots of water as it will sate your appetite.
