My favorite (and their website for that matter):http://awesome.taskrabbit.com/017e0Twitter, Robotcat Apps (Outside Weather App), TeaApp, and despite their situation, AirBnB, all come to mind. Any others?

http://waketimes.com/ just a quick side project, thoughts welcome.
I design mascots and logos, shoot me an email at the email in my profile.
Find a different way to pay it forward with friends and family rather than offering your professional technical skills (if it's becoming too time consuming, maybe you'll have down time some times, and you'll know you can pick it back up).
I think web design is a really good trade to have and you should not stack up a list like that. If you are on HN, I imagine you have grander ambitions of doing your own things, so if I were you I'd learn to respectfully say no more often. I learned this one the hard way, but once I started saying no, it was no big deal, and I was helping others, but in reality these tasks take away time from my own coding projects, and it's not worth the trade off.
can you explain 'convertible note' and 'no dividend' 'no cap'

I understand that startups are being offered lots of money, but they said it was on really good terms. Can anyone explain the terms?

I am curious where linear algebra has applications to web software engineering.
whats a good one to use for single devs/small teams?
would love to see an answer to this as well.
I believe that's already been done...forrst.com

I have two hn accounts. I'd like to close one, and change the username on the other. Are either of those things possible? Can anyone from HN answer this?
would be interested to hear your learning experience in sysadmin.
Awesome. I recently ordered the well-grounded rubyist as I've heard great things about the book (though its on page #2 on your site). How long did it take you to complete the project?
What language/tools did you use to build it?
Are you making any revenue from referrals?

Hey guys.. coming to palo alto for the Launch conference. I will be busy with that Wed and Thursday, but Friday I have free. I wanted to see if there are any hackers here that could show me around? I would love to visit hacker house, meet some of the cool startups and young entrepreneurs like myself building web startups, founders den, and anywhere else that will take us!
joshu: do you need any design help? would be happy to hack on a simple/elegant logo and/or design.
can you share what you learned with these experiments?

patio11's answer is what I was looking for. not the data structure. so most sites all web apps can be broken down into a 'stack'?

guy what are you looking for? they just launched, so there will be more features every week/month but they are focused on maintaining the simple clean intuitive design.
one thing i requested was to group stories from multiple feeds together
im telling you, forget all the other posts, and try www.feews.com -- you will thank me.
great response. thanks! do you find it okay to email people in the industry for their thoughts on an idea your planning on building? is this considered an ok email etiquette practice?
