Re:Poverty hurts children in ways we're beginning to understand

Explain to me how sterilizing someone would reduce poverty? The children of said sterilized person is still living in abysmal conditions and has minute chance of climbing out of it. Do we continue to sterilize or do we educated and push for better social programs for these people?
This also doesn't help the population decline we are facing and so it is complete nonsense.

Nice post Jotaen but I feel you are heavily downplaying how well a mechanical engineering degree looks when switching. You have math and critical thinking skills but just needed a little time to get the fundamental computer science concepts down.
Also how does the idea of boredom come into play here? Yes self-studying is important but at what point do feel burned out and want to apply it in a real world work station?

Incredible. You honestly spun it so that the person who is the victim of racism is in fact to blame.

Even with the wage these jobs garner, the perception is still there. When you tell people you do blue collar work, automatically you think of people drenched in sweat doing back breaking work, with grease on their shirt, dusty steel toed boots and a sense of exhaustion. They come off as low brow crass individual who wants to get paid and head on home when in actuality that is the furthest from the truth. People judge other people in numerous ways but the moment you deviate from the norm, you examined like a microscope and then placed in a category.
It is just the way we are wired.

Apple is so lost. Who in the world needs that much processing power? 18 core xeon processor ? Really? 4999 for the entry level 8 core xeon processor? Apple who exactly are you targeting? You say you want users who want to do cutting edge stuff with your hardware but are they really going to shell out 5 grande for this, when a custom made pc priced at half that will do the job? Come on here.
With the economy in the tank and wages being stagnant, this is simply unacceptable.
Re:An Hour of Running May Add 7 Hours to Your Life

By the time I am at the tail end of my life, I would hope to go away as peaceful and quickly as possible. Work serves purpose to human lives and counting down the clock until you croak is something I want to do as little as possible. I excercise 3xs a week on average of about an hour a piece, adding running a hour a day is a waste of time.
