Revolut needs a way to proactively notify users when their cards aren’t working. It’s so frustrating having to go to Reddit just to find out that Revolut is down.
Unless it materially moves the needle, it’s a waste of the company’s resources. On paper, Atlas Browser and Sora seemed to have greater potential than this and yet, they’ve been discontinued.
Seems like another “product” that will be killed in 6 months, but is good for the IPO so they can say they solved law.
Application developers generally don’t support outdated or unsupported OS versions. It’s only a matter of time before updates stop being released or apps start to break.
Apple killed support for three generations of Apple Watch hardware with its latest OS update: Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, and the original Apple Watch Ultra.
So much for its commitment to the environment, perfectly capable hardware is being sent to the bin.
There's literally no new features on the watch. Adding in AI nonsense.
The Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (formerly the BT Young Scientist) is Ireland's biggest school science competition, held every year in Dublin.
The winners are often kids whose parents happen to be experts in some domain.
There are certainly some genuinely bright kids in the mix, but it feels a bit unfair on those who don't have parents "helping" them.

"Policy at 37signals is that employees .... The difference is subtle but important; the former is how to treat responsible, capable adults"
"Openly expressing frustration or discontent with company decisions creates a negative atmosphere and undermines team morale."
A little ironic, given that roughly a third of the company reportedly resigned.
I won’t be taking management advice from them, it may work if you drink the Kool-Aid, but it otherwise seems to be their way or the door.
"Values written on a page do not define culture, but the behaviors of the people within the organization do"
The same company that says politics don’t belong at work has DHH using its company blog to comment on Tommy Robinson’s march.

"Therefore, we’re asking everyone, including Jason and me, to refrain from using our company Basecamp or HEY to discuss societal politics at work effective immediately."

Regarding your link I'd question any blog post written by a CTO. This is just fodder for their next job.
"Productivity is the efficiency with which resources (like time, labor, and capital) are converted into useful goods and services"
So they increased productivity "number of PRs".
Shipping more does not guarantee shipping better or more impactful features.
Many orgs are constrained by product decisions, not engineering speed.
If there was so much value to unlock through AI then why did Intercom/Fin sell to Salesforce?

It’s the same broken promise every year. All I want is for Siri to set an alarm and open my blinds. That’s enough for me. Makes you wonder how much money Apple has poured into Siri over the years.
Not the only issue people have issues with:
> Ritter filed a lawsuit in November that alleged Schmidt, a former chief executive and chairman of Google, “forcibly raped” her while on a yacht off the coast of Mexico in 2021.
> She also claimed they had sex without her consent during the 2023 Burning Man festival in Nevada.

Seems really polished, who’s the target market for this product? Developers?
You have link to the blog series?
Honestly, it sounds like the usual clichéd advice.
I was expecting something more practical, like doing an interview every six months or something along those lines.
Supervisors and HR just smile and nod.
Maybe if he had a better relationship with his manager, he would’ve realised sooner that he was just wasting his time.
Documentation is like an untested disaster recovery plan.
When a major issue happens, you’ll be the one called.
You should delegate or automate the task and remove it from your workload, especially if it carries high risk.
I’d actually love to read the dark arts equivalent of this article.
The new UI is incredibly disappointing, it looks like an old Android theme from 2005.
Reads like narration from Adam Curtis.
I'll never forgive Orange if they've wiped the twins!
These AI-focused Twitter threads feel like they’re just recycling the same talking points for likes and retweets. When AI systems make mistakes, it doesn’t make sense to assign blame the way we would with human errors - they’re tools operating within their programming constraints, not autonomous agents making conscious choices.
What new companies? Google is a monopoly, along with most other major tech platforms. When a handful of corporations control entire market sectors and actively acquire or crush potential competitors, that's not free market competition, that's market consolidation that prevents the very disruption you're describing. The "creative destruction" of capitalism requires actual competition to exist, not just the theoretical possibility of it.
Do you have a source for this?
I don’t really believe the narrative that this is the C-team running things now. A complete redesign like this would require approval from numerous executive stakeholders. My guess is that it’s connected to the Apple Vision project - possibly they’re working on a new device at a more consumer-friendly price point.
It looks like he’s been focused on building his public image over the past few years, perhaps aiming for a Nobel Prize.
It’s not only about suppression; it’s about cultivating fear around expressing your opinions.
There are groups actively working to have individuals fired for voicing support for Palestine.
For instance, a woman wrote “Freedom for Palestine” in Gaelic on LinkedIn, prompting a group of Israelis in a WhatsApp chat to actively coordinate efforts to get her fired.
The General Manager of Wix, Batsheva (Levine) Moshe, responded in a WhatsApp chat saying:
“Hi yes we know. Being taken care of since it was published. I believe there will be an announcement soon regarding our reaction.”
Wix were orderd to pay €35K for unfair dismissal.

Using the same currency makes it easier to figure out what you’re paying and spot if you’re getting ripped off on holidays.
For example:
€100 EUR = 41,172.31 HUF (Hungarian Forint)
For those who have lived and worked in multiple EU countries, the benefits of EU membership are clear, including the relatively simple process of moving between countries.
ChatGPT feels like a more advanced Grammarly. In our company, they keep creating chatbots tailored to specific domains, but with poor data quality, the ROI remains low. Right now, it's mostly hype, and a true AI revolution seems years off. Even internally, executives are questioning how to measure ROI when they see the costs. I suspect the current hype cycle could lead to the downfall of some companies that focus too heavily on developing AI features for their stakeholders.
