Broadcast a good wifi hotspot name of course.
Sleep well, eat well and get fit. 100% guaranteed wins.

Also, stop smoking/drinking. Hard battles, guaranteed wins.

Yep, this is exactly what we are doing, we have a very good proof of concept/very small MVP going on and working really hard to have a v1!
I have been using metricfire on some test stuff and I have to say I am impressed. Any plans to having iOS sdk/support?

Google Analytics does a very good job of measuring events and not using tons of resources, but then again it is hard to get real time dashboards with > 1M events/day in GA

Edit - I had already asked this, but also Google App Engine support? Cheer and keep making an awesome product guys!

Re:Fork this project and add fucking awesome songs on Monday February 06, 2012 @11:03PM (#3560404)
So the idea is that people fork the project, send pull request and then get them approved to add songs? I am pretty sure that we have the whole html form to database dance figured out already...
It will be available as streaming in that same url :D

Code streaming 4:00pm PST: Python, app engine and github api

Hey HN!I've been experimenting with a new idea that I borrowed from Starcraft 2: Streaming live coding sessions. The idea is to have fun, productive sessions on open source software where I can talk a little bit about what I am doing.I envision a future where a lot of programmers use their open source, side-project, hobby inspired hacking sessions and that allows a lot more people to learn how...

We added a F.A.Q. http://shoutatweet.appspot.com/faq

Thanks for the feedback!

It will send that message, from all the accounts when the goal is reached. There are 2 types of goals, number of people of a specific date/time.
We started working on this idea on Friday Night, and its been an awesome experience! We appreciate any feedback about the site, the idea and our pitch deck ( http://www.slideshare.net/DFectuoso1/shoutatweet2 ).

We are presenting at 6:30ish, so any feedback is awesome!

Jyr is definitly working hard on getting this project up and running, its looking better every day! Congratulations!

Re:Noticias Hacker, like HN but in spanish on Friday March 11, 2011 @02:38AM (#2312550)
You are totally correct, latin american and Iberian Hackers and people from any other place who happen to speak spanish!
Re:Noticias Hacker, like HN but in spanish on Friday March 11, 2011 @01:19AM (#2312359)
I am the guy who created this and let me say:

Wow, just Wow. Thanks HN for all the input! Thank you very much!

The debate contained in this post is extremely interesting and there is a lot to learn about the different point of views about language barriers, culture and communities!

I guess I decided to work on this when I learned that a lot of my fellow latin american hackers read HN every day but rarely participate or post new links. Felling that having a place to share new projects and interesting notes in my own language would be cool I decided to start this a couple of weeks ago.

The code is open source and hosted here: https://github.com/DFectuoso/Noticias-HAcker mostly in english! I think that will add a lot to the conversation: I am not saying don't learn english, just trying to generate a community where people feel confident because they are talking in their own language.

Hopefully this will motivate more and more people to share and talk about awesome stuff!

Well, the latest version of HN I could find was a couple of years old and even tho I know a little bit of lisp, I didn't feel I could maintain/adapt the arc code that runs this beautiful website. I decided to start from scratch and do it in python for the app engine, it was hard to get it to run smoothly(and I will still optimize some more to try to batch the RCPs for memcache and db). Those features that you mentions will come in the next couple of weeks, right now I am going to concentrate on having some moderation tools and then i'll finish the profile and password recovery.

The source is open source and mostly in english :D @ https://github.com/DFectuoso/Noticias-HAcker

Made it a little bit smaller, not as much as here, what do you think? is that good enough?
Re:Noticias Hacker, like HN but in spanish on Friday March 11, 2011 @12:15AM (#2312227)
Will do :D

Would love to hear why, and try to make is suck less.
Re:Use your brain to its fullest: Biological Task List on Monday March 07, 2011 @02:18AM (#2296362)
This is pretty much my routine, except I have an extra step: While I am working on that thing, if I find a really important thing that needs to be taken care of, I write it down as the next task.

That way if anyone interrupts me or if I find a important refactoring or think of something important I get to remember it (and do it) without being distracted at that moment.

There is a sample, the svgdemo file is clearly sending javascript every 100ms, but yea, there no link to a running server.

Re:The Google I/O freebie I'm hoping for: Nothing on Monday February 07, 2011 @04:27PM (#2190855)
I have been there for the last 2 years, and I was able to pre-register this year. I go for the talks and the awesome energy that the event irradiates. I am pretty sure the quality of the talks and the energy will be just better than last year.

Developers like conferences and free gadgets, yea there might be some people looking to get some "free" $500 gadgets, but I don't think that will ruin my experience of awesome tech stuff and meeting the teams from all the different technologies that work on stuff I use every day.
