This is the yet another embarrassing idea from the EU they came up with, if they could focus less on dumb things and more on providing real support to the development of technology maybe we could have more healthy competition that will eventually lead to better overall technology in the hands of everyone instead of acting like dumb chickens and not just being passively useless but also stopping the real labs from doing the real work into doing this bs

It is also good for the technology itself, just image if there would be just one company that does "just well enough", they will be unmotivated to improve their ai models

Skip return flight for YC Stockholm afterparty?
I’m attending the YC event in Stockholm and already booked a return flight right after it ends, but I’m wondering if I’m making a mistake. My main goal is to meet and get to know other builders. For people who’ve been to YC events or similar, do you actually get to connect with people during the event itself, or does most of the real networking happen at the afterparty?Trying to decide whether...

It's not about the tech, it's about the pool of users that use Cursor, by acquiring Cursor you get a bunch of users + subscribed and already paying pool of people instead of just rebuilding something from scratch and convincing people to change their tools with a new one

I don't get all the hype around these kinds of things, it's not something that crazy that when it gets released you solve some kind of problem you had. Those are things that can easily be replicated and that many of us already built for ourselves months ago, before those were published and became mainstream

Disney is not a platform while YouTube is, they can afford more distribution and so experiment more and have faster gtm, while Disney has to struggle more for gtm while testing new ideas.
