Reminds me of when I was younger and creating games in whatever tools I could get my hands on. Made some hover-mouse maze games in PowerPoint

yeah perhaps I worded this wrong.
I don't believe its the right system and the way it should be done but thats how accountability is viewed within the current system (which I think should change).
The top has to have the ability and leeway for things to go wrong so that they can take risks. To make sure they take the right risks they are stakeing a % of their pay if its in options or bonuses as well as in their reputation.
You might be right in the certain situations but this is an open tool with a wide array of possible uses for people. Such a pessimistic approach doesn't allow for any exploration when think about its potential uses.
My original thought was, so its a network drive huh?
But when you think about the fact that everyone has 128GB Surfaces they take everywhere remotely this is really powerful and I can image a lot easier to administer. Love how they have integrated and just added a simple icon. Well done Dropbox
You can pretty much guarantee their web browsing wouldn't be very intensive. Probably flicking around some lightweight pages on the Apple site.
Thats the thing, HT or Gamma without the co-operation of international law enforcement presumably would have a very hard time finding these people in a legal manner. So whats going on up there.
Who exactly would be trying to track him down?
Is there some global force that would be active on him?
Assuming you use all of the 512GB, if I wasn't needing to use the 10GB free then the 10GB costs $100.
prosecutors have a duty to 'justice' not simply to deliver the strongest result against the defendant. This is why they have to disclose information that suggests innocence.
As long as litigation is of a positive net present value (i.e. expected return is positive) then they have a duty to their shareholders to undertake it. It's just the way of the world, its not like the CEO is taking into account this when thinking of 'the way microsoft should be' its just the state of tech innovation at the moment.
This plainly is not true. Ignore this comment OP.
I am going to disclose for you that you work for Cloudways.
i.e. you go into a car park and upon buying the ticket they make you sign it because on the ticket they have written 'We are not responsible if your car or anything within it gets stolen or damaged.'
This term is onerous and as such needs to be agreed to which the signature does.
From the article: To check whether you have the malware installed:
Using “Activity Monitor” preinstalled in OS X, check whether any process named “kernel_service” is running. If so, double check the process, choose the “Open Files and Ports” and check whether there is a file name like “/Users//Library/kernel_service”. If so, the process is KeRanger’s main process. We suggest terminating it with “Quit -> Force Quit”
In the UK at least, receipts often are contracts and often have one or two terms on them. The singing is to prove you acknowledge the contract.
Thanks for the comment. Though I am wondering, as a consulting firm not a finance firm, why does McKinsey model and value companies? Are they brought into double check?
Great article but I disagree with his multiples.
On average for Fortune500 companies the standard multiple is around 15 times earnings. x20 or so times for Technology.
Granted these likely are the dominant player and are much more stable but Saas companies have growth potential that likely exceed such companies.
I think the 4x earnings upper limit is extremely low, especially as there is likely a reason they are trying to buy you out, not just from keeping it relatively stagnant in terms of development and collecting profits. I think at a minimum x10 earnings for a substantial Saas would be the low bar estimation by me.
Lets be reasonable, otherwise you would just hire someone to maintain and just cash in if we are talking about a company like this article is talking about.
Usually startups, defined roughly as young companies with extremely high growth creating something
new, to start off with are running at a negative cash flow to sustain their growth or development and plan to capitalise on the position later.
These companies would struggle to operate with positive cashflows as their products/services and growth hasn't matured to allow for it yet. Perhaps they are building their product and/or are still in the early stages of iterating on their idea. Just because they have a decent business doesn't mean straight away they can consolidate right away on their business in terms of running a profit.
A lot of decent future businesses could die if startups are forced to consolidate. However in instances this may be a wake up call to keep them accountable to the financials of their business.
Relating to this, does anyone know any good Android apps that record such data?
I have enjoyed layoutit.com for simple free wireframing.
You can define your layout pretty quickly if you have ever made a bootstrap layout before.
I know there are other alternatives as well but does anyone have any significant experience with this?Is this a lot better, is this the best one out there?
This is a ridiculous comment. Certain ways of behaviour, certain nuances, cannot accurately or reliably be picked up through reading online, only through interactions.
Thats another thing to configure and worry about though, especially if its just for open source side projects which can be hard to justify spending $ on.
Thats another service you have to monitor to see if its continuing, another service to be hacked, another account user/pass to have.
Spare us he was just pointing out marincounty's mistake really.
Make sure its 100% wool for starters. Don't get ripped off by the plastic stuff.
Get a 100% wool suit that you think feels quality. Make sure it fits you, the take it to a tailor to get it fitted.
Comments are easy to miss though. We arnt perfect about going through our code and testing gives us objective measures.
You would first have to build a suitable dual prop for long flights which costs hundreds of billions of dollars (boeing doesnt sell dual props I dont think for big commercial flights). Thats assuming you can get it working and fits with all the safety requirements and what not.
As such perhaps only for short distance flights? i.e. 3 hours.
Dual props are also a lot slower.
At the same time though if a business is doing $3m profit a year between two people earning $1.5m a year each, calling it "Bootstrapped" is underplaying its success a little.
To an extent I agree I think we are just getting better at recognizing the security and performance optimizations that are staring us in the face when content doesn't change rather than having complex websites completely static as static site gens do. I think we will see an increase in static elements mixed with dynamic elements in a more comprehensive way.
------
I host 10s of more or less static sites (Contact forms being the most dynamic elements) which are generated on the spot from one PHP (laravel) installation.
Anyone know the best way to cache the html/css statically to serve?
