I read somewhere that photo/video capture wasn't available, is that true?
Would it be possible tho? I always wondered wether GPDR applies to data posted publicly?

Nice to see they are working on reducing the pricing. GPT-4 is just too expensive right now imo. A long conversation would quickly end up costing tens of dollars if not more, so less expensive model costs + stateful API is urgently needed. I think even OpenAI will actually gain a lot by reducing the pricing, right now I wouldn't be surprised if many uses of GPT-4 weren't viable just because of the costs.

I think it is counterproductive to limit the rate of growth of AI since some countries — typically the ones who are less concerned about ethics — will not follow those rules and could gain a considerable edge over the rest of the world this way.
I really want to see a gpt-4-turbo model that's almost as inexpensive as gpt-3.5-turbo

Is a dishwasher food safe? I would be worried about any remaining detergent as well.
So modern humans knew a green Sahara? Amazing to think about! I thought that was much older.

Ask HN: How to handle security updates for Docker images?

When you deploy an app as a Docker container, the image is built at deploy time, meaning the libraries only have a chance of being updated the next time you deploy/rebuild your image. Is there any recommended workflow/tools to handle rebuilding your image as soon as a dependency gets a (security) update?

Amazing! Would this have been visible to the naked eye?
I hope it's just that and the costs quickly go down. Seeing the cost of gpt-3.5-turbo, and since many rumors have stated that GPT-4 isn't much larger than GPT-3.5, I wasn't expecting such a high price.

Tell HN: A 8000 tokens long chat with GPT-4 can cost more than $5 using the API

Just like about everyone I'm really impressed by GPT-4 and already a happy user of it via ChatGPT Plus, but something that I haven't seen mentioned a lot about GPT-4 is that while OpenAI has put a lot of emphasis on its usage as a chat bot, it doesn't really seem cost effective to use it that way via the API for now, at least not for long length conversations.I'm not sure at all that my...

Very nice to read! Interesting to see how long those ideas took to go from theory to application.

In the "Two-dimensional syntax" section, the first example variable type is "m × 2 × 1 · N" and is described as "list of m pairs of values of type S1 · N", but shouldn't it be "m × 2 × S1 · N" then? Is it a shorthand syntax or just a typo?

I have this issue when my MacBook Pro wakes up after its battery went empty, even once charged it doesn't go away and you have to restart it
