I'm somewhat unsure about the significance of this stars, it seems too much like a PR checklist.

Yeah. From a usability point of view, I think it's important to hijack some shortcuts, but only those who are not commonly used for such as the one mentioned in the article. I would also argue that this behaviour of blogger is not what users expect, hence it is not a bad behaviour. Wasn't there a pair of shortcuts commomly used for this purpose, Ctrl-K / Ctrl-J if i'm not mistaken?

The actual bad smell of infected people was believed to be unhealthy, so afaik most plague masks were built to provide a "good" smell through herbs or incent, but it seems plausible that some of them helped nonetheless.

Rougly speaking, an electric motor acts as a generator when you turn it.

I sometimes like to violate the browser canvas element in my spare time:
Chromium Version: http://webspekt.de/paintgen-client
node.js Version: http://webspekt.de/paintgen-server
My Server is pretty bad, so when in doubt, don't click.

Ah, now I get it. That would be a nice feature.
>I don't want this to have a private mode, everything is public.
Is there a preview functionality? If not, that would be an important feature.
>You can't guarantee privacy these days
That's true, but you can still give users a little privacy if you want to. I personally wouldn't want to write on that platform without a drafts/preview folder, but that might just be me.

Excuse me, but what exactly is this supposed to be? I took about 5 minutes to figure out the UI, there are bugs with logging back in after (accidentally) logging out, and it throws what I write in some kind of global timeline thing?
EDIT Not to mention the fact that I WANT to self-host!

That is good to hear because this one looks pretty great and I was downright annoyed when I found out it were not out yet.
