Perhaps, however Pulsadis uses a 175 Hz carrier, and neither that nor the bit periods are anywhere close to the pulse frequency I've observed. The amplitude of the dimming does however seem to be consistent with that of the Pulsadis signal.
Potentially related phenomenon: Across multiple locations >200km apart in France, I've personally noticed that mains powered lights reliably and visibly pulse a few times at the beginning of every hour, and half-hour throughout the day. From memory, it's roughly one or two 1-2s long sequences of pulsed dimming, at around 5-10 pulses/second. The pulse frequency doesn't seem to change, and it starts and stops abruptly. Does anyone know what this could be?

Mineflayer does not strictly limit view distance, you just have to change the setting for it from the default value.

I need a screen which zaps me whenever I touch it, to discouraged me from accidentally leaving fingerprints at the edge.

It looks like they are actually using nitrogen: https://youtube.com/watch?v=22rvpUecLts&t=1134s
Don't a lot of these integrate off-the-shelf pre-certified LoRa modules?
I find Discord's search functionality to be severely limited compared to that of other platforms (for example, Slack). It's slow, the search results are relegated to a tiny sidebar, date filters are clunky, you can't search across all DMs at once, and perhaps worst of all, it's severely rate limited: After clicking through somewhere around 25 pages, it will fail and also force you to re-send the search query, and then navigate back to whatever page you were on.

Re:Open source 160 sound visualization experiments on Thursday October 08, 2026 @12:38AM (#50001858)
A lot of them have degrees of freedom which are wasted instead of being used to convey more information. For example, the "vector scope" visualization appears to just be some sort of Lissajous figure, whose scale is the only thing controlled by the sound.

I've tried to use their previous implementation many times (while not authenticated), only for it to give me some vague error.

Can it create functional mechanisms using LEGO Technic parts?
This is absolutely fantastic! Testing with an esp32-s3, it looks like the tuning range is roughly 2.2GHz to 2.8Ghz, which covers far more than just WiFi. It should be possible to receive and demodulate S-band satellite downlinks using this < $2 chip with a dish.

Re:When did Google get so f-ing weird? on Sunday September 27, 2026 @06:08PM (#49871345)
I absolutely despise when people cite google as a source, especially now where 90% of the time they're citing the LLM overview. The old answer widget was at least a direct quote from some website.

I never want my new chats contaminated with information from previous sessions for this exact reason.
Would be cool if it also measured the latency and throughput across many different protocols to detect deviations from net neutrality.
Re:Google no longer provides direct URLs in search results on Saturday September 12, 2026 @01:58AM (#49669325)
Or navigate to the link without waiting for however long it takes for Google's redirect endpoint to respond.
Re:Google no longer provides direct URLs in search results on Saturday September 12, 2026 @01:45AM (#49669255)
I've just checked this again using a google account where search result pages are still following the old behavior: It looks like the 'href' attribute is the direct link, and the 'ping' attribute is the /url redirect link you are referring to. So it looks like it is actually sending me to the direct link, it just also requests /url at the same time in order to log the click. This means the user was not waiting for the logging/redirect request to come back.

Oh that is true, I forgot they changed that.
