Do you think Steve Jobs went to a lot of networking events?

He met his wife while mingling with the audience after he gave a talk at Stanford. Does that count as networking?

There's also "networking with other current losers who are early in their career and may end up being great later."

Sometimes it works. Sometimes you end up trying to get away from boring people for 45 minutes before running back to the train.
