I find it surprising that they are still investing in performance improvements, because to me for a while now it looked like discord has entered the enshitification stage of life, where they go purely for maximizing profits with no regard for user experience. As they had recently hit the news with their age verification requirements I thought that it's over for discord as they will start limiting the users and selling their data en masse.
