Like altering DNA

No, not like that at all.

How is it different?

Brains and neural nets are already quite different things and difficult to compare, but at least you can wave your hands and vaguely say that both are “thinking” by some means of “abstraction or generalization”. DNA is absolutely nothing like that. DNA is more like an encoding for a flowchart for a recipe for building a specific body.

Which is exactly what a model with it's layer is.

Exactly like that.

Both sound cool and "like, the future, maan" while smoking weed, otherwise nothing in common.

why do we need to anthropomorphize everything. what it's like is altering the model weights of a computation graph, because that's what it is.
Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen by tty456 on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @02:28AM (#50349104)
It's not anthropomorphizing anything. It's comparing the act of altering weights as "instructions" as similar to altering our own building blocks.
