120V or 240V through the charge port.

Reading more about this, it doesn't look like it does what I want. I'm looking for:

1. House has solar.

2. House does not have batteries.

3. Grid is down.

4. When solar production exceeds house consumption, the extra goes to the electric vehicle.

5. When house consumption exceeds solar production, the extra comes from the electric vehicle.

This really doesn't look like something the F150 can do.

The F-150 can do this, but by charging the batteries you don't have.

It could also probably run the house off the 240V outlet in the bed, but only if you knife switched the solar + grid off and just ran the house off the truck.

When the sun came out, you could knife-switch the house back, and charge the truck.

Alternatively, you could rip out your solar and put in the one brand that Ford works with (SunRun, I think), and then the truck would be able to bi-directional charge with the house batteries using the solar, or something like that.

(Yes, this is all dumb, especially since there are standards that should allow a dongle to be made to make this work transparently, and to just automatically do the right thing".)

Th truck has a charge port and a plug panel.

You charge via the charge port and power your home via the outlet panel.

>4. When solar production exceeds house consumption, the extra goes to the electric vehicle.

Through the charge port via a charger.

>5. When house consumption exceeds solar production, the extra comes from the electric vehicle.

From the 240V outlet in the bed.

The place where you would probably run aground if anything is the need to plug in two seperate cables, and perhaps fords software, as their are some quirks with how ford handles providing power to the outlets. However if you really are determined, there are ways to hack the CAN bus to get around all this.

Another downside is that the batteries are NMC, so more touchy about charging and more sensitive to cycling often.

I don't think this would actually work; have you tried it, or do you know anyone who has?

The issue is the grid-tied solar. It looks for a grid signal, and sends power out to the grid. When you connect your F150's 240V bed outlet, that will look just like the grid, and if you're producing more than you're consuming the solar will try and send excess power to the truck. Maybe this damages the truck, maybe it just trips and shuts down, but either way your house goes dark.

You would need to write/build a controller. The dumb pieces are there, but you would need to orchestrate them.
