Re:FerroUI a cross-platform UI framework for Rust by Imustaskforhelp on Sunday November 01, 2026 @03:44PM (#50329671)
Looks really good to me!

I am curious about the binary sizes (there seems to be a PR which talks about it) and also how easy is it to actually create cross-platform (say android on mac) using pure rust?

While searching after finding this repo, it seems that Slint, MakePad, Egui and dioxus are some other options as well

I am interested in knowing the actual differentiator of the project, in short why should I use it?

The answer to me seems when its a complex and ambitious project?

With all the AI rewrite of closed source applications into open source rust, do you think that your project can help in creating that or porting any already open source AI rust project from another rust library to Ferro and if so it's benefits?

But nonetheless, extremely interesting project and kudos for making it!

I think main selling point its based on mature foundation from .NET world, extended to modern Rust with fast native rendering, hot reload, declarative idiomatic Rust syntax, React like syntax or classing MVVM Xaml apps. It has also ports of major components like docking, high performance DataGrid etc.
