Existing abstractions can be easily applied to similar contexts, but designing abstractions seems backwards. The system abstractions should be grown and extracted from the working code. Idk how you know the right thing without going through the complexity of building it.

Worth mentioning: Sometimes we choose initial abstractions that don't survive well and need to be adjusted as the project evolves. Claude is extremely good at performing large rewrites that are needed if you need to adjust an abstraction on the fly.
