I don't know who the writer is, but I like this part: "It feels a little like that moment before the tsunami in 2004. Remember how, in Thailand and Indonesia, the ocean drew back from the coastline? People ran out to marvel at the miles of pristine new beach that suddenly emerged, not realising that, far out at sea, a wall of water was building up and would come crashing over them. We’re in that moment now. A towering wall of stupidity is about to inundate us."

For that analogy to hold, wouldn't the stupidity lie in the people rushing out to the beach and not the inevitable wave? I'd say that there's a group of people who are rushing to claim spots on the open beach and most will get swept away.

Not sure it's quite true - "AI will be a crime against humanness. It will bottle our brains in formaldehyde". I mean there's a chatbot thing in my browser but my brain seems to work as normal even so.
At the risk of sounding derivative: She's absolutely right.
After being drowned ad nauseam in a deluge of refuse and bullshit day after day for years now, it is so good to read the writing of a true master once in a while. Not to mention: The truth. For a change.
